Hmm ok ive done that before and it worked but how did you make your ball home into the hole more than once? Because when i did it mine only homed once
Not sure which ball I used but in order for it to become a "homing ball" you have to do your normal super backspin hit (hold up when setting power, then down when setting the contact, MUST have perfect contact) then hit the pin (flag). If you hit the pin after you did all that then it'll become a homing ball and more often than not it'll keep bouncing off the pin until it goes in.
to start off, i love HSG. me and my dad played 3&4 ceremoniously and the outcome of those matches determined chores, and settled bets. since my ps2 broke, and i just got a psp, if i buy this game can we play head to head using the same psp and just passing it back and forth?
Same here, looks like it'll be PS3 exclusive though so I'm sure many serious HSGers will miss out on it unless they get a PS3. Hot Shots Golf Open-Tee 2 also coming out sometime in 2008 I hear.
Actually the homing ball is basically ANY ball with perfect backspin. If you hold up while setting the power, then down while setting the accuracy, then land it perfectly in the middle of your accuracy zone then you'll have perfect backspin (the flaming backspin). Then all you need to do is hit the pin (flag) and it'll home into the hole more often than not.
Press X to start the power meter, HOLD up while the bar is moving to the left, press X to set your power and send the bar back to the beginning area, HOLD down while it's moving back to the starting area, then press X when the meter is perfectly in the middle of your impact zone while still holding DOWN.

I honestly couldn't say, usually if you did exactly what I said then it happens. It might be random, not sure now.
greiman23 3 years ago
what kind of ball was it? or was it a hack\cheat etc?

Lucky you, how are you liking the new hitting controls?
greiman23 4 years ago
I would prefer real shots rather than classic shots in HSGOB (Everybody's golf 5)

Yeah, I've slowly started getting used to Tiger Wood's style of hitting the ball with the analog stick. Pressing a button is so last generation.

Sorry I didn't see your comment earlier. To answer that question: No, you need two copies of the game and a second PSP.

do you press the directional buttons when you press X ? or before you press X
eddyha 4 years ago
I'll just walk you through it step by step.
Press X to start the power meter, HOLD up while the bar is moving to the left, press X to set your power and send the bar back to the beginning area, HOLD down while it's moving back to the starting area, then press X when the meter is perfectly in the middle of your impact zone while still holding DOWN.

eddyha 4 years ago
ty, ill try it, do u need to get exactly on the middle?
Buckers23 3 years ago
Yes, you need perfect impact on the final press of the X button otherwise it won't work.
greiman23 3 years ago
ok, after i hit it, will it automatically go to the pin? do i need to do anything else? do i need to hit it past the pin?
Buckers23 3 years ago
As long as the ball hits the pin in any way, then it'll become a homing ball.
