@brad43210 I only had enough characters to talk about technology and F1 drivers also have teams and racing is racing! Everyone wants to win! So I'm missing the uniqueness of NASCAR. It has become more like the IROC series where the cars are identical. Performance wise, nothing comes close to F1. Its astonishing what these machines and drivers can do. However, it can be pretty boring. The cars are looking more and more alike. ALMS, Super-Touring cars, and Speedvision World Challenge are my favs.
@brad43210 Not at all. Race cars were once platforms on which auto manufacturers and private racing teams tested and developed new technologies that were then homologated into production cars. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday ya know? CAN-AM is perhaps the best example of this and resulted in some of the wildest cars ever created. NASCAR no longer has any relevance to the showroom (carburated engines? WHY?) where F1 technologies like disc brakes, carbon fiber, etc can be found everywhere.
@brad43210 The difference is I actually have an answer for NASCAR fans. There are quantifiable reasons (facts) as to why F1 is great. NASCAR does not have this (anymore).
Hahaha! It's ridiculous to try to even compare Nascar to F1. Nascar is PRIMATIVE in comparison. Put an F1 driver in one of those hillbilly cars and they'd be able to drive them round' and round' with no problem. Put a Nascar driver in an F1 car?.... Don't think so! They don't even have the stamina much less the talent or skills to drive a world class circuit.
and f1 is just for people and europe. in nascar there is something that takes place that is called passing. something f1 doesnt have. o and another thing called excitement. another thing f1 doesnt have
You do know that tons of passing in OVAL does lessen the value of the overtakes? It's like an inflation with money. Even if you had tons of it, you get nothing.
Best drivers all want to get into F1. Nascar is for... well americans.
I also agree with the first guy here, there is absolutely no passing in F1. And about the ovals, there was barely any passing in the Indy 500 on sunday on an oval track. And i'm pretty sure indy cars are pretty close to F1 cars.
There are so many photo finish videos of nascar on youtube, but barely any of F1
dude...nascar sucks....go round and round like how many laps....in F1 there is this thing called TURNS....CHICANES....if you watched any race you would see A LOT OF OVERTAKES...especially in schumi's age....
I'm not seeing how watching people spread out by about 5 seconds in like 2 minute long laps is more exciting than 500 miles of daytona or talladega racing. btw, in nascar, you would rarely have enough time to do a little celebration before crossing the finish line like that one guy did in F1 last week
true, but the lap times are unbelievelably close. FIA puts major engine/tyre restrictions, and then these guys go out and put out laps maybe only 1/10ths apart from years prior!!! its not the same great sound tho :(
2005 was definetly the last proper year in Formula 1. The current rules, cars and track are just ridiculous...

that is because they have more different cars and setups....and actual SKILL

still not proving your point that F1 is more fun to watch than nascar, in fact, disproving it more than anything.
