  • Even this guy pronounced it wrong !!

  • What is in this Gaelic bread?

  • This guy is wrong, its pronounced GWAIL - IC

  • The pronunciation could be refined but its generally correct if we are talking about Scottish Gaelic as it is indeed pronounced 'Gallik'.

  • I knew this was going to be pronounced wrong before i even clicked on the video ._.

  • Gay-lick you moron!

  • No not Garlic - Gallic!

  • This video seems to be quite controversial.

  • GAY-lick. Galician here.

  • You idiot. To go to all that effort to do something ENTIRELY pointless and then get it WRONG! BWAHA! YOU SUCK! Listen babez, the two sounds would be 'gay' and 'lick' you absolute chump. Jaypers, I'd love to meet you in a pub. The wordwar would be marvellous. I'd mostly be swearing at you and calling your mother names and I'd STILL be better spoken than you. GO dTACFAIDH AN DIABHAIL THU! (That would be some gaelic, just so you know)

  • By the way, me dear sainted maternal great grand muther was Scots-Irish and German, she was, and had a fine sweet brogue she did, and "gae-lick" was her way uv sayin it. Up Wexford!

  • I love a lot of gahlik in my tomatoe sauce, don't you? Slainte!

  • It's pronounced Gay-lick.

  • Milk argument.

  • Gay-lick, or Gah-lick

  • FAIL

  • @RectorCR No, he's right.

  • Irish are Garlic?

  • Darlek? Get the Doctor!!

  • @marcRaver no

  • Erm, that is totally wrong. I come from Ireland and it is pronounced Gay-lick.

  • @13luckoftheirish13 This is the Scottish Pronunciation... Ya Gay-lick.

  • @VongolaUploader That's funny because I lived in Scotland until I was 11, then moved to Northern Ireland. I go on regular holidays to Southern Ireland and I have visited England 3 times and in every single country it is Gay-lick.

And btw I am referring to Irish Gaelic here, not Scottish gaelic, though never in Scotland have I ever heard someone say 'Ga-lick' and I have lived there for most of my life.

  • @13luckoftheirish13 I've lived in Scotland for all of my live and I've never herd someone say Gay-lick. I know that you're referring to the Irish version, but i think this video is talking about the Scottish Gaelic and you said it was totally wrong.

  • that ain't how æ sounds.

  • garlic

  • nope, i'm Irish and it's pronounced just like duvidddd said, GAY-LICK

  • You sound like a guy from brooklyn saying 'garlic'.. It's fucking pronounced how it's spelled. (Geh-lik) - try reading up on the celtic languages before posting rubbish

  • WHO THE FUCK IS THIS RETARD?? ABOUT 35 PERCENT OF HIS PRONUNCIATIONS ARE WRONG!

IT'S PRONOUNCED "GEY-LIK" JUST CHECK DICTIONARY . COM

  • FOR ALL YOU FUCKNUTS WHO THINK IT'S PRONOUNCED 'GAY-LIK' YOU ARE WRONG AND SO IS THIS TWAT.

It is pronounced ||_gal-ik_|| not -gar-lik- nor -gay-lik-

  • @Nunchuckemo1 rofl. It IS pronounced Gay-Lic.

  • @MarieClairee27 ...Do a little research into it and you'll find that is an extremely common mispronounciation.

  • @Nunchuckemo1 where do you live? I'm Irish and all Irish people pronounce it as gay-lic

  • @MarieClairee27 I know, that's the thing.

    'extremely common mispronounciation'

i'm not kidding when i say that.

  • @Nunchuckemo1 but the word Gaelic is used for an Irish sport and language so it's natural that Irish people pronounce this word correctly (Gay-lic)..

  • @MarieClairee27 ...It was a very very very long time ago when this word was corrupted.

Look, either way this 'tard got it wrong.

  • So far off it's not even funny. Shut up pronunciation book. Shut the fuck up.

  • It's actually 'gay-lick'. Please don't upload these unless you are certain of the prounciation.

  • The way he says it reminds me of Peter Kay's garlic bread skit.

  • Yes, please may I have Gaelic bread for starters? Then off to deadmau5 for the main, and beaver (bieber) for dessert.

  • sounds like Emeril in here

  • Please do something about this video! I have no idea who told you it's pronounced like that but they were most definitely wrong. In Ireland, we pronounce Gaelic like gay-lick. As far as I'm aware it's pronounced the same in Scotland. Your pronunciation sounds more like Gallic which pertains to France rather than Ireland, Scotland etc.

  • Garlic.

  • Comment removed

  • im irish and in ireland we say it as gay-lick, not galic. lol

  • It says irish in the mutha fuckin tags, its supposed to gay-lik, not GAH-lik

  • Aww yeah, Gay-Lick

  • This is actually the correct pronunciation for American English. It's just that most people pronounce it "gaylick"

  • sorry but you are all wrong. he is in fact correct.

those who are referring to Gauls are miles off.

"gay-lick" is Irish Gaelic, where he is pronouncing Scottish "Ga-lick" Gaelic.

they are the two (different) national languages of Scotland and Ireland.

    Scotsman here.

  • @patriot1314 well technically he is neither right nor wrong then

  • @patriot1314 Demoman :O

  • @patriot1314 Needs more of a gah- imo; but i guess it depends on the local dialect. c:

  • @patriot1314 I'm sorry, Laddie, you're flat wrong. The word is truly pronounced "Gay-lik" The only reason why you pronounce it the way you do is because of your accent, not because of the actual standard. The "Gauls" you're thinking of are the Saxons, A.K.A. the Proto-French, Germans and Spaniards who came from Norwegian lands. THAT ancient language, which surprisingly DID have a lot of influence on your language and the other British, was "Gaulish". Yes they were Celtic, yes it's all factual.

  • @patriot1314 Surely the more well known pronounciation is "gay-lick". Why would he use the less known scottish one? He should have specified.

  • It's gay-lick.

  • You are pronouncing the word "Gallic", which describes Gaul. Gaelic (Gay-lick) is something different.

  • I hate people

  • Its gay-lick.

  • nope.

  • It's Gay-Lick

    Source:

    Native Irish speaker

  • WROONNNGGGG. My Mothers family knows Gaelic, and her name is Gaelic, and they have Gaelic heritage.

  • @Sterlin195

    Scottish Gaelic - (Gaa-lik)

    Irish Gaelic - (Gay-lik)

  • Garlic? Yes now I am convinced, this channel IS trying to set a new world record for dislike votes on YouTube.

Irish is gay-lic (slight emphasis on the first syllable)

Scottish is gallic (equal emphasis, almost trying to form a monosyllable)

    NOWHERE is it garlic

  • Wrong

  • It's not Gah-lick, and it's not Gay-lick. It's Gail-ick. Like pail or nail. Gail-ick.

  • Gah-lick is Scottish, Gay-lick is everywhere else.

  • garlic?

  • I agree with Isklar777. I believe it's prounced gay-lick for the Irish language but gah-lik or sometimes gallic for the Scottish one.

  • It's pronounced gay-lick in Ireland. :?

  • Isn't it more like geh-lik?

  • in scotland its gay lic

  • I've always heard it as (Gey-lik), and dictionary . com agrees.

  • gay- lick.

    where are you from?

video still made me laugh though, haha.
