Grant also believes that Cash did no service to Sherley by pulling him out of prison and casting a spotlight on him. It was all too much for him to handle.
I think the documentary this is taken from should be listed. Just sayin'.

This song really touches a nerve and it makes you wonder, If Johnny Cash hadn't have made it, would Glen Sherley have taken Johnny's spot in history.

I am friends with Glen's son who lives in Jackson Tn. His son is a news reporter for a local talk radio station in Jackson Tn.

Glen Sherley committed suicide in 1978.
He was in prison for armed robbery.
