He doesn't look much older than when he recorded and made the video Just Another Day in Paradise, but he does has a different image. His voice is still just as good as before.
i honestley didnt know who he was till i heard bobbi with an i on the radio tonight, i looked it up and have been listening to his music for a few minutes, hes great! i would definatly pay to see this guy, and i would buy his album
I just adore this guy ever since I saw him as a judge in "Nashville Star". Beforehand I hadn't even heard of his name. His personality and warmth and help and thoughtful comments there as a judge was truly impressive throughout. And then I heard "I'm Alright", a song he had written and wanted to sing himself, but the record company preferred to give it to Jo Dee Messina who had a #1 with it... But Vassar's original version is so much better that Messina will never be... wherever she is now...
i only just discovered this guy a week ago, and i'm completely hooked on his songs, but none of my friends have heard him... he deserves so many more views on his videos, they actually take talent, not that pop crap going around today
This guy is fantastic.... saw him a few years ago in Memphis @ the Italian festival. He had been to Graceland earlier that day..... Man he was inspired!!!!
Special time for me..... one of the best music memories of my life...... was a great time in my life and as this songs goes " it is only a memory" she's still everywhere I go...... hope you are well KS!!!! W
I love Phil Vassar and like most of those here I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves. What other country artist plays a piano and doesn't use a guitar as a prop? The piano is one of the things that drew me to him in the beginning now it's the whole package. =) Phil Vassar Rocks...or is that Countries? hehe
Phil Vassar has been and will always be my favorite artist of all time. I totally agree with all the posts and don't understand why he does not get the recognition he deserves. Probably because he won't kiss peoples ass. I, on average attend 20 concerts a year from various country artist, but NO ONE puts on a show like Phil Vassar. He is a true singer/songwriter and almost every single one of his records he has written or co-written 2/3's of the songs. Who else in music can say that today! 0
One place that Phil does get recognition is up here on the frozen tundra of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He has lots of fans and friends here in Titletown USA. People up here know a winner. This guy loves his music and luvs to please and party with his fans. Here's to you Phil! Live long and keep coming back to Green Bay!
Country Stations nowadays refuse to play any authentic Country Music. I tried requesting hal Ketchum - "One More Midnight" and they told that it sounded too Country and they ONLY play music now with a less Country SOund and more of a Pop Sound. I told the DJ that in that case they should change the format of the station to Pop but don't call it a Country Station if you refuse to play Country Music.
This guy gets no recognition at all in my opinion. I agree about radio the only time they play anything new by Phil in my area is if he's performing in the area. All of a sudden he's terrific. I e-mailed my local station asking how they arrange the format and got no response. If Chesney farts they would play it. Phil blows him out of the water.
@bjoelfn55 Lol. Totally agree. He's so underrated and he's got so much more talent than the people you hear on the radio. I'm glad he keeps making music despite the fact that he gets no air time.
This album has a few songs that are very hard to listen to when going through a breakup. Phil co-wrote them all, I wonder if he's going through something tough.
If Pop Singer Vanessa Carlton can get famous for playing the piano then surely so can Country Singer Phil Vassar. I TRULY feel that the Country Industry just focuses on making one or two Country Singers a star and leaves all other Country Singers in the dust.
Read GACTV or CMT and you will see that all they focus on is Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, it's RIDICULOUS!! When someone else comes along that they like they will leave those 2 Country Singers in the dust, you shall see.
Phil Vassar is SERIOUSLY one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Country Singers. He is RIGHT up there with George Strait and Shania Twain. How this guy gets ABSOLUTELY no fame or recognition just mesmerizes me. NOT one time did I EVER EVEN hear Country Radio Play his "Bobbi with an I" Country Song here in Dallas, TX and calling up the Country Stations here to play a Country Song proves to be ABSOLUTELY worthless!! If could get one Country Singer famous it would HAVE to be Phil Vassar. :)
@kalmanizer the same happens up here in New England. The radio stations havent played "Bobbi with an I" at all. And now that i think about it, they havent played ANY phil vassar songs in the LONGEST time
requesting songs on mainstream country radio is a lost cause these days.. its all packed with too much kelly pickler, taylor swift, and jason aldean. radio sucks
@kalmanizer I agree. He is heavily underrated. Fortunately, he's made a fortune writing for Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina and others. He performed here in N. Cali the other night at a small venue. He always has been a favorite of mine.
@kalmanizer i agree totally phil is amazing and get no attention at all it sucks because he is one of the best i hope will eventually get the attention he deserves
An absolutely amazing song!
