  • I've haven't seen this video in a while! Great video of the T-128!

  • Wrong again, i have heard a T-135 in the alert mode there is no T-135 in our siren system the 2 T-135's i saw are T-135AC i don't know if there is a T-135DC my hometown we never have a T-135 or a T-128 we never have American Signal sirens at all.

  • ...

  • yea i live in taylorville and this is very random and 12000 views.. i feel special =]

  • as the poster, I would have never guessed 12,655 hits! have parked at this location near airport during severe weather in hops of matching severe storm with siren, no luck yet this summer, check out my other Taylorville Video's thanks for watching!!!!

  • is Taylorville near or south of Springfield?

  • YES 28 MILES SE OF SPRINGFIELD IL

  • i am 60 miles northeast of Memphis, Tennessee we test our 8 sirens in Brownsville, Tennessee on the first Saturday of the month at 12 noon for 3 minutes.

  • haha i live in there but i live like 2 blocks away from another siren, and they are loud as hell...especially when they are winding down...ugh

  • If i lived there, i wouldn't have thought it was a test.

  • SHUT UP STEVENSLEAVIN!

  • Ive heard tornado sirens where i live in Canada. their louder then you think. Lol and it was really scary to hear them

  • It sounds like a single tone thunderbolt.

  • Yeah it sure does! I guess if one HAD to be replaced, this ACA T-128 would be a good choice.

  • i wish maine had some stuff like this. the worst thing weve ever had was the ice strom [which was actually bad.] but like we dont get hurricane stuff, tornado sirens, its boringggg.

  • ow my ears started to ring after about 30 seconds

  • Whoa, I know just where that is! (I'm originally from Decatur!)

  • so that it will aim in different directions to warn people in different areas of the range of the siren

  • WHY DO THE SIRENS MOVE AROUND

  • So other people can hear it during a tornado warning.

  • Sirens move around incase some people don't hear it.

  • they move futurama604 because in an emergency it needs to alert every one in the immediate area

  • its a rotating siren

  • because they rotate you have some that rotate like the 2001, T-128 Allertors, P-10, 15, 20, T-135 and other sirens that rotate including the thunderbolt sirens the sirens that don't rotate are the 2t22, 3t22, STH-10, STLl-10, cyclone siren so there is the answer to your question. you have the rotational and non rotational sirens so there is a difference between the two types of sirens.

  • yup that is one t-128 sounds like one and looks like one

  • wow taylorville looks like a depressing town

  • Well....if you are referring to the fact that there are no buildings or people around, the reason for that is that this video was taken facing away from the town...This siren is located on the very edge of town.

  • oh it is... heh

  • they should have sirens lk fire trucks sounds lk a broken microphone instead of a alarm

  • I wish there were Tonardo sirens in Canada, British Columbia, Richmond. I hate these sounds but I'd love to have one outside my house.

  • i dont care what it is. it's LOUD!!!

  • well mine went off 4 real yester day!!

  • its a t-128

  • now thats the kinda siren that will get ppl to safety when tornadoes strike

  • This is one of the best Electromechanical sirens in production today!

  • is that a Thunderbolt?

  • no that's an American Signal Tempest-128, maybe even the new Tempest-135AC/DC (I'm leaning torwards T-128)

  • It's a T-128. You can tell by shape of the sides. The T-128 has a plate-shaped speaker whereas the T-135AC/DC has a more cylinder-like appearance.

  • The old T-135 (P-50) had a huge cylinder like shape, you couldn't mistake that giant with anything else (I want to see one and hear one in person badly). The new T-135AC/DC looks just like the T-128 (same okra shaped sound output horn pattern) but is larger. Hard to judge size from the video. They use the same pic for the T-128 and T-135AC/DC on ASC's site. Like I said I suspect this siren is a T-128 as the new T-135AC/DC just came out and not enough are installed just yet.

  • A T-bolt has a square horn and is not electromechanical siren, they usually are yellow and their sound is a low tone compared with this T-128.

    Whelens Vortex are the future!
