This is The Day on September 41, 1980 That The Mickey Mouse Reuve was Showing in Final Performances and Shipped to Disneyland in Japan! 30 Years Today!
@skullbasher115, Because Mickey's PhilharMagic Takes It's Place of The Mickey Mouse Revue! But Hopefully The Mickey Mouse Revue Could Come to Disneyland Park in California and Paris!
It would have been neat to have seen this at Magic Kingdom back in the day. But I have to admit, Mickey's Philharmagic is pretty much the same idea with all of the characters singing their songs and such. I hope they keep that around for a long time to be honest because it truly is a magical show to watch
I can't understand why they didnt leave this attraction at WDW, instead of shipping it to Tokyo...couldnt they have just built a duplicate for Tokyo??? This was one of my favorites at the Magic Kingdom and the only one that was truly representative of all the Disney characters.....makes no sense why they would remove it
I went to Disney world for the first time when I was a little kid in 1984 but I NEVER EVER remember this ride. Was it out of Disney World Florida by then?
Probably was. Maybe it was only for the grand opening. Or it could of changed because since the opening a lot of the original rides have changed completely. I'm just taking a shot but maybe it was where the country bears are or mickey's phillarmagic. I'm not entirley sure=\
@chsoftballdream2 The show you're thinking of was the 'Legend of the Lion King', which was a puppet-based show. Prior to that, the 3D movie 'Magic Journeys' was in this spot (It was replaced at Epcot with 'Captain Eo') and before Magic Journeys, Mickey's Revue was the show that started it all.
I remember when this first aired! This is a show that they never should have removed. I could understand updating it from time to time but to close it and ship it to Tokyo Disneyland still makes me sad. Mickey's Philharmagic (which uses the theater now) is one of my favorites, but this show was a gem. I also wish that the video featured the Three Caballeros singing their song.
This was a classic. I've missed it ever since they shipped it off to Japan. Thanks for posting!

This show was in Fantasyland in the same theater where Mickey's Philharmagic is now. They removed it in the early 80's (1981-82?).

Oh, when I was a little kid I went to Disney for the first time in 1984. I guess it was removed by then.

They're lots of rides that I wish hadn't been taken out. Especially since I wasn't alive when some opened! But WDW is still awesome =]
