the way i see it each ending suffix is an slight change in design,and the general electric m-400's kept the same body shape right up until the m-400-r3/a3 came out.

tpirman GE M400R2/A2s are now back said slaidblade.
im Glad of that For Sure!!....i never Understood Why GE made Such a Drastic change...and decided to Base the M400R3/A3 off the AE 125.

HPS fixtures are more efficient but they require 2.2-4kV pulsed ignition current provided by the ballast, so they can be more dangerous.

to be honest i prefer mercury vapour lamps as they give off a soft glow but the HPS lanmps aren't that bad either

Right, but Mercury Vapor lamps are the best, 'cause of their soft flourescent whitish tones.

I hate HPS Light, it's horrible,has a stupid yellow-orange colour, and very low CRI, Merkury Vapor bulbs, are much more better, that horrible HPS

Yeah, me, too!
Brockton uses HPS lamps.
Holbrook, MA uses Mercury Vapor and it's the next town over from Brockton near Avon.
But Boston uses a lot of Mercury Vapor.
