  • IMO, Spielberg did the right thing in cutting this version; not b/c it's too gruesome but b/c the meaning of the sequence is unclear. It doesn't look, to me, like the guy is trying to push Michael away. Instead it looks as if he's in a panic and is about to drag Michael down but then, at the last minute, Mike gets free.

  • The actual reason this was not put in the film is not that it was VISUALLY shocking or gruesome, but because the theme or idea of the scene was shocking - the original idea the writers had was not that the man was trying to save Michael's life, but that he was trying to use him as bait in order to save his own life - and that is why he is holding on to him while he is in the sharks mouth. In the end they felt it was in bad taste (sorry for the pun) to use it in the final cut.

  • that scene was dull to me....thank god they deleted it!

  • @karelleimena yeah that was too dull and not scary no blood.

  • @gregorkrause chrissie's death was more exciting and also Quint's death

  • Glad they got ridda that scene. It was pretty hokey.

  • @SuperLaulou

na klar. wie alles beim Film.

  • I like this scene. Shouldve been in the film!

  • Actually, the movie's version of the estuary scene is the most frightening moment of the movie for me. That quick, first glimpse you get of the shark's head is terrifying and very authentic-looking.

  • If the script from the left was out how can the video be over the right, i have seen the taste of the tapes but couldnt reach the high steps, can anyone help??

  • its good but how was the man fitting is the sharks mouth he looked at an odd angle the fish was swimming forward ....so the man was supose to be bend at a funny angle hanging out his mouth ....t dont look right

  • is he riding on the shark...

  • Is the uncut version on the internet??

  • Should kept hold of this scene.

  • Cool bid

  • Wow, never seen this before. Thanks so much for posting. Terrific!

  • @bluevirgo19 Chill out....

  • @mariofreak4500 it's Winter!

  • @bluevirgo19 the term "lost scene" attracts more viewers...just as the sound of bathers splashing attracts shark ;)

  • @bluevirgo19 chill pill

  • Maybe in 1975 that would be too gruesome, but it's quite tame by today's standards.

  • how was that 2 violent

  • @MasterChiefguy515 I know! The other version is when his leg gets bitten off!

  • Why in the hell did they delete that!?! the movie would have been amazing if they would have kept that scene

  • This scene was deleted, and thank god it was, because is not possible that your body get that position in a shark attack, the mouth is far more under water than the size of that man.Instead, The body stay between the jaws and under water. This can function in an under water scene, he take the boy to save him, spray all the way under water with blood mujajajaja, and let the kid safe under the bloody sea botom. Mujajajajaja.

  • ale urwał aj em polish

  • They're making love until Jaws gets bored...

  • The way it was fined looks lame but in premise it's cool. Seeing the guy in the mouth and as a last heroic act, pushes mike aside would have worked. Again neat idea, but lame effects.

  • There is another reason why this scene wasn't in the film and they're never gonna tell. BS too gruesome it's not gruesome at all. Most likely the real reason: it looks fake as shit and makes no sense. Why would he be holding onto to the kid for any amount of time while he in the sharks mouth? Also, Alex and Quint's death were way mere gruesome. Even further, Speilberg wanted more shock from the audiences in the night dive scene. Why would he pussyfoot this part than?

  • @punkgunner i'm with you on that .. I was baffled too.. that scene was cut not for it being too violent..

  • @punkgunner

I can't say I completely agree. I don't think it was necessarily cut because it was more visually gruesome, or gorier, than Quint or Alex`s death, but more the concept of it. Watching a dying, bloody man carry a boy through the water while in the shark's mouth about to be eaten to either, depending on how you interpret it, a) use him as bait to save himself, or (b) save the boy's life, is pretty upsetting to watch. I do see what you are saying, but I think it was more than that.

  • how is the fin that close to the man? he wouldnt even have been in the sharks mouth, hes like on the sharks back where hes positioned, the sharks head is alot further away from the dorsal fin

  • @cheezkid Thats what i thought. The guy looks like he's on the sharks back. The probably cut it cos it looked crap.

  • @jimllfaxit they claim it's because it was too violent... well this is NOTHING compared to Quint being eaten alive, slowly sliding down the shark's throat and spitting up blood before being taken underwater dead

  • They cut this but they have no problem with Quint's death :P

  • @cryptid85

    right ;-)

  • Awesome! Where is this deleted scene available. Is it on an anniversary DVD??

  • @nosajj12345 ~it is in the behind the scene/deleted scene section of the 30th anniversary. They said that they thought it was too gory for the movie. That is why it wasn't in the original movie.

  • Jaws, released June 20, 1975.

  • Interesting. I have never seen this before. Thanks.

  • most seem to forget that this movie came out in the 70's when things were simpler, the fcc's view on violence and gore wasn't as specific as it is now and the only other movie that would pretty much scare the living shit out of people was the original friday the 13th with Jamie lee Curtis

  • @Tazbev84 ....Halloween? She wasn't in Friday the 13th. Just thought I should point that out.

  • @Courtanie Oops sorry got my horror movies and decades mixed up friday the 13th came out in the 80s staring our favorite serial killer jason

  • It wasn't cut because it was "so violent and so horrendous". It just looks shit.

  • The less said about this scene the better.

  • So glad that didn't make the cut, as it looks retarded. Less is more.

  • @LBUK2010 You fucking started it!

  • @TheDensley7 you basically started the argument nearly 1 year ago when you typed "it is 35 years old you cunt"

  • @LBUK2010 That comment wasn't directed at you, why did you fucking chip in?

  • @TheDensley7 all i wanted to say was the movie is nearly 36 years old you cunt

  • @LBUK2010

He made that comment a year ago, you cunt. Do the math if it doesn't hurt your brain.

  • @TheDensley7 all i wanted to say was the movie is nearly 36 years old you cunt

  • @LBUK2010

He made that comment a year ago, you cunt. Do the math if it doesn't hurt your brain.

  • @donniedarkodevotte that comment is 10 months old you cunt

  • @LBUK2010

10 months ago WAS last year you ignorant cunt. Damn, you're stupid. Lol. Cunt.

  • Estuary Guy = An unsung hero of the movie. (salutes)

  • @MURPHYCHACHO As well as Ben Gardner (severed head) another unsung hero.

  • speilberg deleted that scene because it was too bloody and violent. thats what he said in the making of JAWS. it wasnt that bloody :~(

  • 0:10 thats the fin and thats the tail

  • why do i see 2 sharks?

  • Hmmmm... i wonder if i can edit this into the scene. Im gonna try it.

  • Love the last bit when Spielberg came on xD

  • I always wished they had used that scene!

  • @Wesson4 me too.

  • this was epic it should of been in the movie

  • THIS SHOULD OF BEEN IN THE MOVIE ITS EPIC

  • @haldir800 Should HAVE.

  • @Ottisify Shut your fucking face, Moron.

  • Comment removed

  • No wonder they deleted it. Way too fucked up.

  • When i first saw this movie i thought michael brody was cute when he was staring at the shark but not when he was out of the water?

  • It is 35 years old you cunt.

  • was that Terry Grossman ?

  • @vlamousse1 Close but Ted Grossman. He was the stunt coordinator for the first two films.

  • @mariofreak4500 thank you for youre reaction

  • I love jaws but how is that gory the scene they had was just as gory you saw a guys leg coming off still good outtake

  • I am 14 and I love this movie, it would've been cool if thy realesed a DVD of this film with all the deleted scenes in the film so you could watch how it really would've been so people can decide which is better.

  • I wish you had left in Speilberg's commentay!

  • Had i seen this scene as a kid, i probably would have never gone in the Ocean again,

This scene did look awesome btw now i wish they had kept it...

  • @Ottisify Chill out and enjoy the video. >_>

  • @mariofreak4500 Yeah i enjoyed it allright, its hilarious. and i love how the shark has 2 Big ass fins :O

  • @Ottisify I fucked your Mom up the ass...While we watched JAWS !

  • @JackBuck44

    how kool

  • wow

  • Had they used this scene, Jaws would surely be an R-rated movie. Still, at the same time I was always interested in seeing how this pic would turn out if they HAD used it. I wish this was included in the "deleted scenes" area instead.

  • thats horrific

  • i agree that would have to been to harsh for the movie

  • @battousaiblade i'd personally want to have this scene in the film it looked awesome.

  • @Ottisify It is 35 years old you cunt.

  • @TheDensley7 it is nearly 36 years old you cunt.

  • @LBUK2010 Yeah, it was nearly a year ago when I wrote it. You cunt.

  • @TheDensley7 You cunt. Haha is that like your catchphrase now or what? :D

  • @mariofreak4500 Yes it is, you cunt.

  • @LBUK2010 Fuck you, spastic.

  • @Ottisify Stupid, ignorant kids like you should have your fucking heads split.

  • @TheSchlockmeister chill out

  • @Ottisify Number one:

This movie is a masterpiece and you treat it like "Jonas"

Second: It was a THRILLER not a HORROR

Third: You don't say "Whom" When talking about an object or a nonliving thing.

  • @Ottisify I agree, this isnt very scary for the 21st century. However, it was 35 years back AND it was the first proper shark movie, so it had a big impact on people about swimming in the ocean. How deep would you venture in the sea?

  • @Ottisify im only 14 and this is in my opinion the greatest film ever made and its scary coz it could happen hell it did happen in 1916 and also its 35 years old my mum can remember when her parents came home from the cinima and looked scared as hell

  • @Thebooshboy1 I'm 14 too my friend. This film is very exciting :)

  • @Ottisify piss off ass wipe

  • @Ottisify Man, a little rookie advise seeings how your fresh off twilight milk.... do not diss JAWS! i got a tooth knocked out for dissing jaws once and that was for saying jaws 1's shark was bigger then part 2...got it? because these dude are about to rip you a new one.

  • I WANT THAT SCENE IN A POSSIBLE DIRECTOR S CUT SO DARK ...

  • @throughtime You can get this scene in the latest version of Jaws DVD. It is included in a two disc set.

  • Originally they had another victim the harbor master and the scene was he was cleaning his coffee mug in the ocean and he dropped it and while he's getting it the sailboats start swaying one by one the shark hitting them then pops up and gets the guy and drags him down...that scene would of kicked ass

  • this scene is in the fanedit version of jaws: JAWS - THE SHARKSPLOTATION EDIT

    fanedit.org

  • wow, that was weird.

  • I wish they had more lost scenes like Ben Gardner's boat outtakes. :(

  • Why is there two sharks, or is it the.... im not a too good in english so i say tail.

  • @Juicefani11 its his tail

  • nice man i never saw that part
