We have all seen Wayne playing the tuff guy image on screen. Why did he not fight during WW2? Did he have flat feet, disabled or blind? James Stewart fought during the war. I just wondered why Wayne (the tuff guy) didn't. No offence intended, I'm sure I will be told the answer.
Wayne didn't serve in the military because of his radical racist views and he had a questionable past sexually. It is commonly believed that he was a closet homosexual.
@MrSpitfirejl no actualy he did not dodge the draft or was too old (many soldiers were older) simply john wayne was not allowed to go he was too popular
I didn't know this guy til i married my husband...and watched most of his movies bcoz my husband has a lot of collections...he is such a great actor. I love western movies just as my husband do...he looks gorgeous to me esp during his time...I love all his movies I've seen with my husband, really great! Thanks for sharing!
Gary cooper was good as was Randolph Scott ,but the duke was tops!!! all his acting was from the heart., and came natural to him. he was as genuine in real life as he was acting.Ive walked to many who worked with him and said he was the best in his profession!
I would have to say gary cooper was the best. then clint eastwood and john wayne after that. john wayne always over acted his parts too the point it looked like he was acting. same as clint eastwood. But gary cooper became the hero he portrayed and did not over do it. You actually could not see a hint of acting from gary. just take a few movies and compare them cooper vs wayne. high noon is a good comparison.
This was AWESOME!!! Thanks for posting this!!!! John Wayne was my dad's favorite actor too...I have been watching his movies since I was 3 yrs old. This ... was sooo much fun to watch. He was a True American Role Model... Thank you!! R.I.P. Duke. God Bless!!
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Glad you all like the video!
