From what I know the collection of the raw materials and manufacturing of EV parts can sometimes be more damaging in the long run than any petroleum fuels you save from being expended, it's why the Prius is more damaging than you're average sized gasoline only vehicle. Plus I meant that the BMW i8 just isn't incredible for the environment, but it's cyclic mpg is very good, and 40-50 in a 300hp+ car isn't bad at all.
