OReilly should know, as a history teacher, that the civil war was about PRESERVING THE UNION... NOT slavery... in fact, the emancipation proclamation didn't free slaves in the North... only the south to weaken them economically.. I stopped watching Letterman because of this and other interviews. He is beyond obnoxious and wrong in much of this. I wonder if he thinks - even for a moment - about the fact that the current President continued both wars and even expanded one of them (in Afghanistan). But I get the feeling he wouldn't want the truth to get in the way of his ideology.

I love Dave Letterman and think he's one of the best entertainers out there. But Bill O'Reilly is so much smarter than him when it comes to politics and the economy. Dave shouldn't try to debate these things with Bill. He doesn't spend the same amount of time researching the facts the way Bill does. It's fine when he tries to poke fun during his monologue, but he doesn't stand a chance in serious discussion with someone like O'Reilly.

@Ogre2Ogre @Olderstudent081977 I'm a state government employee and we are capped at $9 for breakfast when we travel, and we only get the $9 if we stay at a hotel that doesn't serve any kind of free breakfast. Personally I think $9 is too much. This occurs everywhere in government - since it isn't anyone's personal bank account, no one cares about being frugal. Trying to debunk a $16 muffin and defend it as being a whole breakfast is stupid. $9 or $16 for breakfast is stupid and wasteful.
