I hate to tell it to you, but the counter-protest was mostly made of anti-gay religious folk as well. That's just how it is in the bible belt. There were some rainbow-flag wavers but most of the counter protesters were bible thumpers as well who only showed up because WBC was putting down our soldiers, i.e. they agreed with them on the other stuff. In fact, I heard a few comments from people dissing pro-gay counter protestors. I thought to myself that many of them should go over to WBC side.
