great movie....seen it twotimes....in the beginning it was really interesting, but in the end i cried so much, hate people like that general, thinking men are the most epic people on earth, not caring about everyone who surrounds you......good thing he dies in the end (sorry for spoil)
We are going to watch a movie in spanish for my spanish class and I suggested this movie :) I don't think it's scary at all, but you have to be 15 years old to watch it. (alone) but we are all 14 years old so it should be ok. the other option is zorro, but everyone knows those movies and it will be kinda boring for the most of us. so pan's labyrynth or zorro?? :) just hoping that my teacher will accept the age limit. they are kinda strict.
Many viewers of the film debate whether or not Ofelia's experiences were real. Personally, I feel that it was real.
Here is why, I have seen other fatasy pieces showing that children were able to see mythical creatures but not adults. They say the reason is because children are more pure than adults are and I kind of think so.
Look at the Captain, the way he was so cruel to everyone; no wonder he could not see the Faun.
Still, it's a great movie and i highly recommend you see it
@rafanoutube First off, I'm not using whatever you're thinking of. Second, what I meant was that there have been many stories showing children being able to see magical creatures but some adults couldn't.
Some say this is so because children are more pure hearted than adults are. No matter how cruel the world seems, I still try to stay a pure child at heart on the inside
@sadlobster1 Ok, I'm sorry to tell you Santa Claus isn't real. :(
Ofelia could see things because she read a lot and was a very imaginative girl. Or maybe she saw spirits who morphed into fauns and stuff, which can be, if you believe in the spiritual world. Personally, I think she was very imaginative and that's why she saw things, as a way to escape her cruel reality.
@rafanoutube You can't be too sure of that. People have been making all sorts of discoveries based around things that are "not real." Whether it be ghosts, the Loch Ness Monster or any other example; one can't be exactly sure about what does or doesn't truly exist.
That's what's so beautiful about this movie; it's so thought provoking about the topic that people have been coming up with all sorts of theories about what Ofelia sees. So in the end, no one (not even Del Toro) truly knows.
yes in spanish with english subtitles, but you will forget it's in spanish after a while bc you'll be so into the movie...it's THAT good. hauntingly good
@MortallicA91 - dubbing kills the characters and acting. it's better to watch foreign films in their original language to appreciate the artistic abilities of actors and it also flows with the atmosphere
One of my favorites movie ever. Really great job, you got the essence of the movie, which I would think is hard, the movie is entirely something else.
It does a great job at capturing the feel of the movie but I think for a trailer it needs a bit more magic and a little less of the war-story... But great job!
i dont get what the problem i like foreign films. what ppl too lazy to read the subs

@IreallyRoxurSox1 It's not italian, it's a mexican-spaniard film from Del Toro set in the Spanish Civil War.

@IreallyRoxurSox1 "why is it not in english??"
Because English isn't the only language out there.
If you want a trailer in English just search for it.
