  • i would like to be a pilot,,,, but i want to have a life too,, to enjoy life,, but i want to be a fighter pilot... someone???

i want to be a fighter pilot because i want to be an astronaut.

  • Comment removed

  • @PILUPACKSXXX i have the same dilemma. just graduated with my BS, and im at a cross roads in my life where I can make money and have fun like all my friends are doing or attempt a career as a fighter pilot. I figure I can work a job any time of my life but their's only a small window in which one can pursue being a fighter pilot....I guess what im saying is you only live once, go big or go home.

  • @PILUPACKSXXX Astronauts were test pilots. Usually selected from Secretive projects at Military Aerospace testing grounds. If you want to have a life early, fighter pilot/ test pilot/astronaut is not the job. You can have a family after you reach that status, but the risk of death is high.

  • ive wanted to be a pilot sence i was 16 ha im 20 now and am in the marine corps infantry wierd how life turns out

  • I'm 5" 10 in good shape 15 years old but I wear glasses. I've always wanted to be a pilot and I want to know if I could get in to the air force

  • @ninjanessly10 You can join, but just being in the Air Force, does not mean that you will be a pilot. A very small portion of the USAF are actually pilots.

  • @ninjanessly10 If you wear glasses, then a Fighter Pilot is out of the question. Not sure about transport.

  • If i chose to become a cargo pilot, would my training be different? Would i still have to go to the same training?(Like G-Force Training?)

  • @OutlawAirsoftPA Some of the training is the same. The G-force training is universal for all pilots (rotary wing, multi-engine or fighter jet).

  • @OutlawAirsoftPA no you wouldn't do g training and yes it would be different. Multi engine training.

  • how did he get his pilot license while in college?

  • @Werewolf9837 Air Cadets offers a scholarship for a summer camp in which the chosen cadets may earn their wings. My friend got this scholarship two years ago and he is now 19.

  • Hey, I'd be very pleased if anyone could guide me. I'm 15 years old, pretty fit and have no lacks. Although my sight isn't as good as it could be. Like I could do a sighttest in school without mistakes, but the E's were a little blurred out to me. Could I still become a fighter pilot? thank you :)

  • @MegaMichkel I did a bit of research and got a whole lot of misinformation and stories that didn't match. It seems that the airforce requires no worse than 20/50 vision uncorrected, and it must be correctable to 20/20. They approved eye surgeries like lasik and PRK on a case to case basis.

Got even more misinformation about the Navy but the general con consensus is that they have stricter standards comparatively. Talk to a recruiter or someone who can give you hard on paper requirements.

  • @yggseleaf Thank you very much for your help :)

  • im lacking one muscle in my leg due to an accident, will it affect me?

  • Im in really extremely good shape average height 5"7 14yrsold but i wear glasses is there any chance i can fly. Im also getting lots of the nutrition or vitamins whatever they are to help my eyesight.

  • I'm 16 right now and I plan on going to a community college then transfering to NC State after 2 years so I can major in Computer Engineering. My GPA is a 1.5 (plan on getting my HS GPA to 2.0 at least) but the local CC will accept me and guarantee a transfer into NCSU. I plan on keeping a 3.4+ GPA in college. What do I need to be doing (starting with Junior year HS) all the way to senior year of college to be competative for acceptance into Flight School. Thanks in advance.

  • Can somebody tell me if I could become a fighter pilot. I am very tall, and have a strong build. I have broken my right wrist 3 times but is completely healed in every way, and I wear glasses. Somebody told me that at high altitude my wrist will be in great pain.

  • @crunkatron5000 ...There will be a medical examination; by the time when you reach the final level of recruitment for the training they will deside what to do with your medical history

  • i am extremely interested and willing to become a fighter pilot, i have good grades, in 9th grade, but any advice from anybody? rotc cap... etc?

  • @randomguyjfktx make sure to fit the physical requirements lol - i'm 2 inches too short to become a fighter pilot for the US Air force. do you think it'll make a difference?

  • @ChocolateLoverROFL haha maybe for the ejection seat? i hope im not too tall xD

  • @jedijaffy56 Same exact boat.

  • Im 17 and want to be a pilot for the US air force. But i dont have the best grades in the world. And my math isnt awesome either :/

  • I was jerking in my BDUs. Does anyone know how I can get it off?

  • what grades do u need

  • Iam 100 percent interested in flying a fighter jet...but my grades our to low im in 7th grade moving on to 8th grade but i have like a 3.2 there is no way i can get in with those grades...for all u people that wanna be a pilot and u have good grades..your the luckiest people ever..i would die to be pilot. id rather be a pilot then anything else in the world

  • @A1FORC3 They don't look at your elementary school grades, they look at your highschool and college grades, you cant become a pilot without good grades in highschool and college so u still have a chance, good luck.

  • @africavsworld You are wrong buddy. Idk who told you this but you do not have to have good High School grades. After you graduate from High school, the US Military can care less. All that matters is if you had good College Grades. Try shooting for 3.8 to 4.0. This is to get into flight school AFTER OTS.

  • @poopymouth171 wait so do you go to a 4 year college before going to flight school? if so, what are you suppose to be majoring in?

  • @marmeytan Don't quote me on this because I'm neither an officer nor have I been to flight school, but I am military.

In order to commission as an officer in the first place you need a 4 year degree. In order to go to flight school you first need to be an officer, as only officers can fly high performance aircraft. While grades matter, I can't really tell you if major does. I'd go with something math/science though to play it safe and pick up a better understanding of aerodynamics as well.

  • @poopymouth171 What school did you attend? How does the selection for flight school operate? and is there an age limit? Did you go to school before or after joining initially? I'm 21 and currently have no college; is it too late for me?

  • @poopymouth171 Hello, sir! My name is Cameron and I currently 16 years old and a Junior in High School. I am looking to join the US Air Force, as flying fast has been one of my greatest desires, and I am wondering if you must go through college to join the Air Force. I live in San Diego, California so I would be recruiting to Miramar. If you can give me any helpful information, that would be great! Thank you for serving and God Bless!

  • @ThatBoiCam1 Officers only. Minimum Bachelor's Degree. Recommended 1500 hours flying experience any aircraft. Must have 20/20 vision. Recommend studying Aeronautical Science/ Aerospace etc...Air Force is a good way to go. But it is a tough tough ride. But not as difficult as Navy Aviators. Good luck.

  • @mazeltov11 Thank you for the advice.

  • @ThatBoiCam1 You dont have to go to college to join the air force. But if you want to be a pilot you must do very well in high school & try to get into the air force academy. You have to have at least a bachelors degree from an accredited college & be an officer.

  • @TheRosaroonie Ok. Thank you for the advice.

  • @A1FORC3 dude ur still in middle school NO ONE cares wat u get there just make sure 2 work ur ass off in high school cuz thats when it matters

  • The only thing I'm not looking forward to in the air force is ALL THE CHECKS!!!!!

  • IF you vomit is it alright to bbecome a fighterpilot? will you get used to it?

  • @05koda My dads a pilot in the USAF ad he said it is but u cant do it like over and over again... yes u will get used to it

  • I'm a Junior in high school looking forward to join AFROTC in college. I've been blessed with perfect vision and great physical condition. I cannot wait to reach my dream.

  • @ECbanana4 r u in ROTC now?

  • What do i need to become a pilot, and what i must not be afraid of?

  • Hey in looking to be a pilot. I'd love to be a fighter pilot but I'd love to just be a pilot for anything. I'm thinking about majoring in aeronautics but not really sure. Can someone give me some advice on what to major in?

  • @GasMaskSuicide Yes, you can. But more importantly, you need to have a 4 year degree.

  • @GasMaskSuicide No, u need a highscool diploma

  • Currently an 18 year old cadet in AFJROTC living in Las Vegas, Nevada. My entire family (on father's side) have been pilots, as well as my cousins. Though my father is not a pilot, he enlisted in the USAF and is a CMSgt and in maintenance...and he hates pilots. Even with that, at the age of 12 my father pushed for me to become a pilot. Even though I failed into getting in the AF Academy, I have a full ride to Embry-Riddle in Prescott, AZ. Can't wait :)

  • Most of these guys were/are young and they just wanted to fly jet fighters until one day they woke up and realized they were ordered to blow up and murder innocent civilians in the special interests of big corporations.

Imagine living your dream until you grew up and realized you had to give up your very soul just to fly in such a machine...

  • @FoxifiedNutjob You *are* a nutjob...good screenname.

  • hey I am 17 and I am looking forward to joining the Royal Australian Airforce as a fast jet pilot. It has been my dream since i can remember...

I have one major worry... I only have one kidney. My right kidney was removed at the age of 2 because it was infected. It has not caused any more problems or any complications since then.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS WILL BE A PROBLEM??

    pleaseeeeeeeee reply. THANK YOU! :D

  • Hey I am a highschool student (Sophomore) age 15, I am looking into becoming a fighter pilot its all I have ever wanted to do is fly so why not fly for my country, however I do not know what my chances will be of actually becoming a fighter pilot even after graduation a college with a four year degree in Aviation can someone tell me what they know? Becuase I do not want to waste years of my life after signing up doing something other than my dream..

  • @sneakyrogues Don't major in aviation because you think it will help you. Major in something that you'll enjoy and can do well in. When it comes to majors for pilots, technical degrees are preferred, but definitely NOT required by any means.

  • What's the actual name of this documentary?

  • @lilcrack91

The documentary is called Jetstream and it aired a few years ago on Discovery Channel Canada.

  • Uh, yeah. The RCAF is a part of NATO and kick ass with us overseas. These guys rock.

  • why does Canada need an air force?

  • This is the Canadian air force? If so can someone tell me where this flight school is?

  • i watched this for about 5 min before i realized it was the canadian air force. -_______________________-

  • omg so many checks :O

  • it looks intense but nobody can beat the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE.

  • Wats this show?

  • You know what's funny. I watched top gun the other day and I thought "That's something I'd like to do" ha ha. It's been on my mind for a long time though, but I didn't want to cut my dreadlocks and all that shit, but lately, I've thinking otherwise.

  • Could i become a fighter pilot if i was wearing specs? Wats the minimum degree?

  • @andrewasle, you can !!!, I applied for teh dutch airforce a month ago and passed the tests, you may have +2 , -2. But they are very strict I never had specs and after the test I had to get specs for a degree of -0,17 for the left eye and -0,14 for the right eye. Normally you won't even get specs for that disorder, but in the airforce eyerything has to be perfect !!!

  • i wanted to be pilot of combat aircraft, but i can't because am blind from one eye so my dreams of becoming one is can't be done ,bad for me,but all of you out there that don't have problem with your body you can do it!,so all of you should be glad about that.

  • @sadiel1 hey this is my dream too! i have flat feet so I might not even be able to join the military, so i can relate to how that feels why everyone else can join without even giving a damn if they have any problems.

  • @sadiel1

thanks, and sorry to hear about that.

  • @sadiel1 shame for you, i think i fit the bill well, in terms of healt/fitness and in terms of academics, well, im pretty awesome... Lol, i already have the "full of yourself attitude" :)

  • @sadiel1 thx man! feel sorry for u ;(

  • @sadiel1 I wanted to be pilot of combat aircraft, but i can't because.........well......... Im...a.....DUMBASS...lol

  • @sadiel1

Read 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne........

  • @sadiel1

Read 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne

  • @sadiel1 Thank you for being honest with yourself and I am terribly sorry for your condition, i wish the best for you. Im only 16 and im trying for AFROTC and my GPA is around 2.6, and my dream is to be a fighter pilot so im trying for that 3.0 GPA. It will suck if my GPA kills my dreams.

  • @sadiel1 ThankGoodness we are living in the year 2011, where you can fly a jet on a computer and it almost looks real and the experience is almost real! Come and join the rest of us dreamers down here and be part of our combat flightsim community. It's not the end of the world! You can still have fun! without the sweat, blood, and tears of real pilotage.

  • @sadiel1 Ya i have the same problem. im am blind in one eye so i cant fly. u can still fly airliners tho

  • @sadiel1 thats true ... guys never forget that (me too)

  • heiii is this the Canadian air force??

  • @fritzg93 yes

  • @fritzg93 i said the same fukking thing

  • lmfao one of the pilots names is Dave McCloud... I will pay him to change his first name to Fox!! lol

  • @tharwpoop HAHAHAHAHA Yes he should change it to Fox Cloud then we need peppy and falcon LOL

  • @tharwpoop lol "This is Peppy. Do a barrel roll!"

  • wtf this shits canadian any way so how do you get into the program do i join OCS and tell them i want to be a fighter pilot or is it some other special way?

  • @deathgod646 you have to be the chosen one .. ;)

  • for me it was the right stuff, that inspired me. Seeing Chuck Yeager, hell yea thats what Im going do.

  • Fox Mcloud..

  • Thanks a ton for the upload. Navy pilots are very admirable.

  • Oh great. The real name of this show is

Jet Stream, ive been looking for this show quite sum time now, lol

    but thanks for uploading

  • dats alot of things to check 4 before you fly!!!!!

  • My dream plane to fly was always the f14 tomcat but my math skills are horrible. Can anyone tell me why math is such a big part of being a fighter piolet just out or curiosity.

  • don't ask why math is important

google 'how to improve math', and practise

f14 i believe they all retired, good luck getting an super hornet or F35C

  • Sadly as I stated my math skills are crap and at the age of 30 and having never been in the military I dont think I will ever be a fighter piolet unless I win the lottery and buy one like John Travolta does. Like many people my desire to fly a fighter came after I saw Top Gun just loved the tomcat for some reason.

  • lol, okay :)

  • Nice stew receipe on your home page may have to try that sometime um minus the greenpeas though.

  • pretty much you can find anything on youtube these days eh?

  • fuck the f-18 and the efa the only reason i would want to join the american air force is to own everyone with the legendary F/A-22 Raptor so much better than a bugatti

  • From what i have heard and read.... Maths IS highest order, one of my mates friends, got knocked back from Fighters to Black hawks for not enough maths. So advice degree in Maths, then aviation college or course.

  • so just go to college and then you can become a pilot? after traning of cource

  • College, ROTC or OTS, Apply for flight school, go to SERE school, go to flight school, go to fighter school.

  • what about naval academy? ,because my friends father went there and he said he could potentially get a senator to vouch for me to get in

  • You go to SERE just before RAG (Navy; idk about the AF), not before flight school and there is no such thing as "fighter school". But yes, ROTC or OCS are the first step if you don't get into the Academy. A good thing about OCS is you can be guaranteed a flight spot.

  • Really? I was under the impression that the OCS guys don't get many fighter slots, and that most go the Academy graduates, second most to ROTC cadets.

  • I don't know the ratio of OCS and Boat School pilots but there are a lot of OCS guys flying. I do know that only 7 guys got picked up with a pilot slot the month I was selected. That could be because BDCP is a rather small program and the requirements are higher than regular OCS applicants. One advantage of the OCS rout is you know what community you are going to be in rather than finding out two years after you start the academy.

  • ok can someone tell me what you need to become a fighter pilot in the australian air force? what you have to do and things like. thank you cos i really wanna become one of thses

  • ok so all over the net everyone is saying you need to good in math and science and shit to be a pilot, and im a C student in that so i gave up hope. but my dad's friends are pilots also and they said they were horrible in math! so can i still become a pilot as an average joe in academics?

  • not fighters lol good luck becoming a fighter.... getting a master degree in Math may help you over the age

  • you only need a bachelor's degree...

  • yeah you can. you just have to work hard

  • You most certainly can! I myself, was a bit of an "average joe" in academics. At the time, my commander helped me realize that I needed to capitalize on the things that I excelled in, which helped me alot! Soon after, I graduated at the top of my class with a great commander's rating with myself and only two other pilots eventually commissioned to train with the F-16.

So,if you're still young and in good shape, you shouldn't call it quits just yet!

  • Thanks a lot for the advice!

  • @kdjfnvjvd If you get this message I would like to speak with you.

  • @kdjfnvjvd i see you are pilot, so i want to become a fighter pilot but my vision is 20/50, read that they can correct it if is less than 20/70 and then become a pilot, is that true?

  • No.

  • yeah sure if you know people... but if you want to go to usafa than c's wont get you there.

  • yea no kidding most of those kids have like a 5.0 gpa and tons of other shit

  • dude you cant even get a 5.0 gpa

  • With AP classes you can. In college, no you can't. but in college most of these top pilots are extremely motivated and competitive. You'd have better luck winning the lottery than getting a fighter slot

  • Don't give up hope, but you're going to need to raise your grades. Cs just won't cut it.

  • Hey guys i have a question - do you have to be fit to become a fighter pilot? thanks

  • first off, r u retarded, of course u have to be fit to be a fighter pilot

  • ok. Thanks!

  • I'm gonna join italian airforces, to fly the efa

  • I want this job

  • @kennyfan77 it isn't a job it's a life you need to have a feeling of like i want to fly to the universe that's how you can achieve you're life :)

  • I'm gonna join canadian forces to fly f-18

  • Me too. if you really end up joining, please tell me how it goes :)

  • For sure!
