@SHAAFreeSh more often than not a high-speed film camera is used, usually shooting over 1000fps. that's a lot of film to burn, and it all needs to get developed, so it's very pricey. I've been looking at video alternatives and haven't really come up with anything other than you need to buy/rent a pro model camera that can record higher frame rates than 30p or 60i.

It was a response to someone saying only katana wielding samurai were capable of this kind of precision to which I still say, it takes no special skill or special kind of weapon to chop a tomato, you could do this with a dull kitchen knife.

Its a cool video I'll admit, but I still feel people put too much credence into the effectiveness of anything coming out of medieval Asia.
