Very impressive party, but questionable marketing campaign
Though the party 's really cool, do those people belong to target market of s60? What is their average income? What sort of careers ? Do they consider more safety than yippee lifestyle ? Time & finacial resouce are always limited, so if u failed to use them wisely, the game is over & u end up to be a loser. Marketing is about spending right amount of $ at right time to target right group of people for a maximum PR effect.
I've owned two Volvos. But not sure how this is supposed to make me interested in the new S60. I was expecting some hot girls...instead I get a lame video of losers club hopping. (yawn) The last 10 seconds was cool...just get that chick from the Mercury commercials to spread over the hood.
maybe its positioned completely differently, in europe but i dont think the s60 can be positioned this way. obviously volvo trying to get away from boomers and seniors but the price range is something that does not match up with younger demographics. i think the s40 would've been a better choice. i wonder if the showroom experience reflects the media, because last time i was there it was all about safety aka their legacy....i love the evolution of the designs however in the past 15 years.
I'm going to be honest, I'm absolutely stunned by your marketing team Volvo. It's in the league of Apple. Your designers and engineers have completely turned around the looks of your current vehicles to some very very attractive machines, and your marketing team is incredibly edgy and definitely knows what they're doing, as evident by work such as this.
not one brand can afford to stay old for long anymore, as the planet's culture is growing younger fast, especially evident in the largely style-driven automotive world
