  • There were 2 audio versions of the ending credits that were aired on Friday nights....not the one that's abbreviated from the ABC daytime shows from the early 70s. Wish someone out there who may have copies of either, or BOTH these versions would post them on here. The 1971-72 season had 8 shows, in which the shorter version was played at the end of the program.

  • Yes, I love those clips, also!!

  • Very cool!!

  • Thank you, Maureen :)

  • Nice video...! Hey I liked "Love American Style"

Truer than the red white and blue. gosh darnit I can't rember the rest of the lyrics. Do you remember who did the theme song. one clue... It wasn't the partridge family...lol I was getting ready to say happy 5th, but I just looked at the clock and it's way after midnight here on the east coast... so happy 6th. =)

  • LOL! YOu are already on 7/6--We have less than 1/2 an hr to go here on the West Coast!! Congrats--you are the FIRST to "get" the TV show reference, "Love American Style." Sorry, I don't know who the musicians were as I was a VERY small child at the time--TRUE STORY :)

  • The Cowsills... in '71, I was 14.

  • I was STILL a mere child--:P LOL!

  • Never heard of the Cowsills...Yes, in '71 I was 5 :D

  • The Partridge Family TV Show was originally going to be about the amazing family music group "The Cowsills"

some of their hit songs "The rain, The Park and other things, Indian Lake, We Can Fly... and who can I forget..."HAIR" [long beautiful hair...shining, gleaming, gimmmie down to there [HAIR]shoulder length or longer... lol yes I'm a music nut. I was a Top 40 radio DJ back in the day. lolol

  • Thanks so much for finding and sending me the LOVEAMERICANSTYLE intros--I love it!! I did not know Garry Marshall did some writing for that TV show!!

  • Yes and the Cowsills were great doing the 1st Love American Style theme, which was replaced by the Bahler brothers, Jackie Ward and Stan Farber or Ron Hicklin who were the Partridge Family vocalists backing up David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. All of them have a great sound and I miss those days!!

  • WHOA--I am SO impressed!! You really know your 70s songwriters. I was a FAN of the Patridge Family TV show, too :) LOL! I think David Cassidy was my "first" crush!

  • aha i was THERE! Gosh well the crowd was too big to notice you anyways lol. Happy Fifth of July :]

  • Yes, I had just a TOUCH of claustraphobia! I am sure most of the City of San Jose was there! The rest set of the illegal firecrackers--LOL! Did you take the light rail in?! We did!

  • I took the bus in and then light rail out because they stopped train service from 9-10 :\. But all in all it was a good time :]

  • I could not BELIEVE they STOppED the trolley service! My husband and I had to take it Downtown...We live hear TAMIEN station--we wanted to stay there and watch--but the VTA would NOT allow it!

  • BTW, I was one of the first ones ON the light rail headed for home! I did NOT want to be left behind in the MESS--We left approx. 10PM :)
