@BlackOpsTacos They are DM rifles, Designated marksmen. They are meant to fill the gap between the range of your grunts 400m to the 600-700 meters that the real sniper rifles kick in. They fill a vital role but they are not snipers and they aren't really shot by snipers. they are just used by the most accruate guy in your squad that was to afraid of sitting in a ghillie for three weeks at at time. :)

@ryanjames170 yes, but its not a good sniper, the m14 has manny off targets shots, the dragunov was the first great magasine (not clip) fired semi sniper ther where made, and the m14 was first used as sniper in 1979 , before that it was known under the name m21 and was not alike the normal m14, it used stronger bullets and a difrent barrel and the scope mount. also the only sniper type that the dragunow cant keep up whit is bolt snipers. m14 is a light sniper.

The Dragunov is actually just a modified AK-47 if you guys have actually know about guns.. That's the reason why it runs on 7.62 mm rounds.

It's a little more complicated than that. The SVD operates on a diet of 7.62 x 54R rimmed rifle rounds (originally used in the Mosin Nagant 1891 rifles). Ballistics are close to that of a 30-06. The AK-47 utilizes the 7.62 x 39 round which is a short rimless round having the ballistics close to a 30-30. The SVD operates at higher cartridge pressures than the AK. Markedly different rounds and mechanics.
