  • Get to the point!!!!!!!!!!

  • great video. thank you for taking the time to explain and not just show.

  • Hey oldschoolmechanic, Nice video. Would you happen to know the brand or model of that truing stand? Thanks!

  • @fivetenagain I don't know off the top of my head but I can check the next time I get it out. I do know it mas made in France in the early 70s and that I am the first person to actually use it.

  • @oldschoolmechanic Thanks for the reply. If it's not too much trouble that would be great.

  • @fivetenagain I won't be back in my workshop till November but I'll put it on my list of things to do.

  • @fivetenagain I looked all over the truing stand and the only markings I've been able to find are "VAR" cast into the base.

  • @oldschoolmechanic VAR is a french tool manufacturer, they are especially famous for their bike tools

  • @Alex4surf Oh, I knew that it was French, to my knowledge VAR was the first manufacturer of bicycle specific tools. This stand was my dad's, he was a bike mechanic back in the 70s so I have access to all his old tools.
