what a dream...and these girls deserve it. It is so refreshing to see a bunch of women with talent, playing their heart and souls out for not fame, but for the music. A group that actually has talent, rather than getting famous for showing your privates, or wearing outrageous outfits. What a dream to get to be a part of The blackhearts Records. Joan jett is an inspiration, and made a huge impact on my life.

I love girl in a coma, and they're usually very original... which is why i was sad to see that they'd ripped the "band-as-audience watching drag performer lip-sych the song" idea from The New Pornographer's' "Sing Me Spanish Techno" video...

you're right, amanda lepore is trans and has been female for quite some time, while juanita moore (the queen in that TNP video) is a drag performer... i'm not saying they're the same, just that the initial setup of each video is very similar.

i'm aware of who amanda lepore is....

and transexual is not a drag queen, whether or not there's a penis or not. a drag queen is a type of performance artist. a transexual is a medical term for someone who was born backwards gender identity. and as ridiculous as amanda is when she's always performing and vamping, she's still a transwoman. sorry, i have a few trans friends so it's kind of a pet peeve of mine.

@toribjork10 Actually that would be TransGENDER. I have Trans friends. One is TransGENDER, and I also know transsexuals. but transgender FtMs may take Andro and such, that doesn't make them Transsexual until they've undergone sex change surgery of some sort, and MtFs may take estrogen, again, doesn't make them Transsexual until they've undergone sex change surgery. Transgenders are still LEGALLY Male/Female once they go through the stupid court system to change name and legal gender.

@toribjork10 Yeah Amanda is a transsexual....I know that. :) I was just correcting you saying that Transsexual is a medical term for those born with GIC. Not necessarily, because some are termed transgender and genderqueer, and then just GIC. :)

I have to admit, I was just introduced to this band by a close friend and I am impressed. not only are these girls hispanic but they can sure ROCK... you go girls, make us proud.. lol Cause the lord know i don't have a musical bone in my body... bless you all..
