Chris is really good at the type of music he plays and he played his song very well. But obviously, you don't know anything about how this type of contest is judged. They judge you on ten areas of your act. Which is how you get your points. He didn't do half of what is required for a good score.
By the way, It is a Bluegrass song, not a Country song.
Always remember, opinions are like noses, everybody has one, and they usually don't keep them as clean as they should.
@1GuitarPicker I actually had a very good score, thank you very much...and I did do "half" of what was required. Jacob...dude...your "ok" at guitar and all, but you live in the south...and those judges were bias on the kind of music I played. I overheard what those judges said about it. And that really pissed me off dude. This goes for both years I attended the Franklin County Talent Contest. I'm glad I moved back north. Since I've been here, I've had bands left and right calling me. Alabama = 0
@SeveredHands1 I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like you didn't get a good score. I meant that there are alot of little things you have to do in order to get a high score. Things that most contestants doesn't pay attention to. Like smiling, acknowledging the judges and looking at the audience. You have to dot every I and cross every T. That's what I meant by you not doing what was needed for a good score. I think you are "OK" too. I'm sorry if I offended you.

@666starryeyes My Dad didn't make me do that song. I chose to do that song because Chris had done such a good job on his. I knew that I had to do something different if I was going to have a chance at winning.
