Thoroughly enjoyed this game and from the after chat, sounds to me like Ren might jump on the opportunity for a rematch with the new Warhammer. More Doomwheels? Can the Dark Elves pluck another victory? I'd love to find out.

You NEVER build character heavy Skaven lists. Especially in this new edition. You could get away with it in the old edition, because of the Warplightning spell and how godly it was, but not anymore. You gotta take balanced army lists with a lotta points locked up in infantry such as Monks and Clanrats. Weapon teams are good, but I only recommend using 2 max, regardless of point size battle.

Lastly, TARGET THE HYDRAS WITH WARPFIRE THROWERS. D3 wounds, negates regen, AND -2 armor!

and 2 bolt throwers count as a single rare choice, so my guess is that u two were playing at 3k+ so u actually could have had 4 bolt throwers and 2 hydras if u were playing at 4k

Plague furnace is not unbreakable. Screaming Bell is tho.

This is exactly right. We have absolutely no reason to teach people how to paint. On top of that and more importantly there are about a zillion great how-to-paint vids out there.  I really liked one called "Hot Lead".

i played a game yesterday and now that i watch these reports we now play with the rulebook open to the appendix section so we can quickly refer to the section at hand. takes about 2 min to read over a section and brush up on what is happening. there wasn't a lot but there were a few things we learned and fixed, we have BTP to thank for that.

I think Shaun meant that it would have been a draw if he had got 36 points less. So the point-difference is bigger but it's still just slightly a minor victory.

I'm not saying this because they won but man I love dark elves, I don't play fantasy but every time Shawn pulls out his blue devils and I hear about the rules they have I just eat it up, I may consider makeing a dark elf armie, may even if I can scrape some money together and try and get BTP to make it project but thats a thought for when or if I decide to switch to fantasy, but I love my orks toomuch!
