is the only guy so far that i've seen that really uses the right hand technique as it should be.... the only thing moving must be the wrist... not the whole arm like michael angelo do sometimes.. the wrist should be ¨in the air¨ sometimes u have to place it on the bridge when u use distortion.. how long did u take to play that fast?? how many hours a day do u fast players practice?? i can play fast but... slash fast not petrucci fast LOL....
when you say angelo plays wrong than think about how fast he can play with that "wrong" technique- can't be so wrong btw everyone says something else wrist or arm
Well you're wrong. You can only move your wrist if you like, but your wasting muscles. You have a perfectly good BICEP and TRICEP, tens of times as powerful as your wrist, why the hell would you not want to use them? Picking hand = shoulder, arm and loose but powerful wrist. Keeping arm still = tension nightmare.
since ur talkin bout right hand technique, i hear that an anchor (your little pinky touchin the body of the guitar) is a big problem with ur technique (apparently), what do u think about the whole anchoring thing?
Petrucci's Rock discipline covers these same exercises but he really doesn't bother to explain anything in any kind of detail, even minor. He just tells you the chord shape and starts showing off. If you aren't acquainted with caged, being told it's an a shape doesn't help a lot for fingering. This is loads better for a beginner trying to get started and not quite as intimidating in approach.
hey man, gd stuff!! but you say to alternate pick the first example but you dont on some of your plays, just me bein picky i guess lol, nice work man!
i'm sorry but i'm abit of a big beginner so i need a more basic starting lesson because i don't really get a word that ur saying lol, if anyone knows any good websites please lave me a message
Did you still find any websites to teach ya? LOL I did not really understand anything he was saying either. I am also a beginner, but if you found any websites please let me know so I can check them out. Take care
great lesson, I notice your thumb on the right hand is slightly bent back, I play the same way. Does it affect your playing or is it frowned upon if your thumb is bent backwards?
Glad you all like the vids! Im working on some new videos at present and gonna put up a website as well, its all work in progress, if you subscribe you will be informed as stuf goes up.
Why do I get the feeling that guitar's been up his bottom!

Do you guys rest your hand on the guitar while playing, or is it "floating"?
gotcha51wtf 2 years ago

Wow, dude - using JP's exercises is okay IF you give CREDIT to him. You're acting like this is YOUR material. Very low, dude. Sorry.

Wrong,
More strength and power using arm.
The fastest Jazz rock Master I know taught me.
And it works.
This guy here has terrible control and tone.

BAD
Ripping off Petrucci's Rock Discipline.
Absolute trash.
Straight out of the video. Example 4 exactly.
Except you didn't bother copping his progression, you just did the first key.
SO UNBELEIVABLY LAME, you should be ashamed.
