To answer you, I am visual. I take my Barbie doll and measure with Barbie doll all the pieces.
For example : the sleeves I cut a little more than Barbie doll arm ...

@Shasarignis Ha am the same but when I do a tutorial measure after I cut my pieces fantastic bathrobe though I need to make some for my dolls too :)
