  • Shit on islam

  • @rx8andrej Bomb your Mother´s hairy Pussy, Asshole !

  • America needs to spend a lot less on death and a little more on life.

America is harming all nations, infecting them with fear, by infesting the world with weapons.

  • @eastariel

In 2010, the U.S. spent around $685 billion on defense.

Imagine if we spent that money on peace instead!

We'd all grow more healthy, wealthy, and wise.

  • Lol 5 % on health and 4 % education way to go

  • America- "were flat broke, increase military spending and cut schools is the only answer"

  • the us does not have a defence budget. it is an offence budget.

  • Just so people are aware, Cenk is highlighting a percentage that is just PART of the overall federal budget. Do not get confused and think that that 58% is part of the WHOLE federal budget. The reality is that military spending, in relation to the whole budget, is actually (approx.) 20%.

  • If we spent 58% on science and technology funding just imagine what we could do... less then 0.05% goes to NASA, and look at the amazing things they're up to.. They sent people t the moon! But I'll defiantly admit, the lack of care to science and technology in this country isn't the worst of are problems...

  • I really think only college graduates should be permitted into the military. Also if ever a draft ONLY people with AA degrees should be allowed.

  • @skaredufngamen What makes you say that? Though I think I might be safe from that, I went to a trade school for auto mechanics haha

  • @Orangys280Z Since they wanna separate us working folks from them make them do all the real heavy lifting and dying... And i meant to say AA degrees and above...

  • but he didn;'t tell you that those 100 countries were probably all african countries.

  • You want to get rich? Come up with some new "super weapon" and sell it to the US military. It doesn't even need to really work. You just to demonstrate that it could be a threat if some other country bought it instead of the USA.

  • Were there any follow up questions? That was it? "No".

  • It really shows liberal priorities when they think welfare, unions, and government handouts are more important than our troops. Is this really how radical the left has become? That they are actually willing to hang our troops out to do dry in order to sustain their extreme spending that has driven us into an economic collapse in the first place?

  • "this answer the answer to fuck you buy netflix"

    Uh...what does the subtitles? Lol.

  • Even if we had only 1/6 of our current military expenditures, it would be equal to that of China, and we'd have about 570 BILLION dollars saved EVERY YEAR. And remember, China's population is 4 times the size of the United States. Imagine were that money can go to...education, infrastructure, clean energy, health care? Nawwww.

  • @cowssmell11 But why spend money on schools when weapons companies can make billions and trickle it down! Besides when your the biggest asshole on the street in a bad neighborhood you better have plenty of weapons on hand. Any what about Haliburton what will happen to the 300 employees making over one million a year from $50 a plate lunches from every single soldier worldwide? You want them to live on half a million, get real.

  • Dear Youtube,

I'd like to report that Dislike button isn't Blocking all the TYT uploads - button.

    User

  • While we're at it, we need to start a war with Mexico and Canada-- just to remind 'em who's boss of North America.

  • how can people just sit back and allow this? 58%! holy fucking shit that is so much money most people can't comprehend it

  • 58% of discretionary spending on Defence, just 4% of it on Education - that's why the US is screwed up!

  • i know, i sound completly mean and all, but it would be nice, for a change, if usa wants a war, to have it in america. it's not fun to have a war, when it's 1000 of kilometers away.

  • So while the Republicans are talking about the "necessity" of cutting billions from health care, education, and other social programs to balance the budget, they're NOT willing to admit that a relatively small cut to the defense budget would acheive the same result, while not screwing thousands if not millions of Americans out of much-needed social services. How anyone half a brain or half a heart can vote for those bastards is beyond me.

  • Leon Panetta seems really to believe what he said, and then you watch the graphics and OMFG, this guy is either suffering from alzheimers or he is soooo corrupt by the system, that in front of the world, truth is stepped on and becomes meaningless. Bloody liars, bloody assholes, what a bunch of stupid morons. Get these idiots out of the office NOW. I would cut the spending to 25% for a period of 3 years, that would save us from disaster. America, those idiots are using patriotism to screw you.

  • Go ahead Attack Iran so Iran / Russia / China / Turkey Alliance can rid the middle east of you maggots. You can also take the Zionists of Israel with you and give them a piece of America. Fucking Zionists won't rest until they start another World War so lets fucking do it, Just know that there will not be an Israel by the end.

  • @RocksSparky That like saying, "I'm proud to be a dope smoking retard".

  • Just nuke Iran from orbit, its the only way to be sure.

  • 58% of your budget was Military and it took you guys ten years to find and kill bin Laden. Even then it was only thru sheer luck. Nice to see money well spent. Should only have a budget that will cover maintainence costs and have a bit left over in case anything promising is produced.

  • I'm often in agreement here. But the military would probably lose half of that money spent if people that were a part of the mlitary were actually held accountable for the mistakes they make. The military personal should get paid more than they do for the average enlisted soldier. A general shouldn't be allowed to change the 'stamp' on a squadron just to prove they are doing something. They get a gold star for 'being active' while wasting thousands and thousands of dollars. Accountability

  • Obama won't support invading Iran.We are already bombing five countries. You invade a third that would put the nail in the coffin. Nobody would support such an action.

  • U.S.. attack on iran is useless

95 percent of that country does not want anything to do with terrorism, and hates their muslim oppressers, they fucking want out, i mean you walk down the street and ask people they all say, ahmedinijad is the most useless dumbass piece of shit i have ever seen.

honestly how bout the U.S. uses the CIA for once for a good cause, and just kill ahmedinijad and ayotollah faggot face, then maybe i would gain some respect for this god forsaken country

  • @kazekage321414

The US military does not need to attack Iran. President Palin will dispatch her AMAZONIAN GOD WARRIORS to topple down the Islamic govt and EXPOSE the mullah's PUSSIES! She will CRUCIFY Achemedinejad and the Ayatollah upsidedown naked on a cross with their legs spread wide open and their PUSSIES facing up to GOD and the HEAVENS! President Palin will install a new secular democratic all women govt that will ban the chador and the hijab along with all Islamic activity!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme troll

  • IT'S A SHAME!

  • @RaynMan718 A SHAME!!!

  • @LeLimeLine Its messed up he was the only politician I liked, hell I would still vote for him.

  • Defense spending is obviously a huge drain, but what Panetta said is absolutely correct. Defense spending didn't cause the debt, the fact that the government cannot manage its spending, and spent more than its revenue caused the debt. Cut defense sure, but don't attempt to blame poor populist short term political thinking on the defense department. They are just like everyone else, they will push for more money always, it is up to the politicians and the people to push back.

  • Well obviously if we cut everything but defense then we won't have a budget. So you see it's not defense, it's everything else.

Or you know, cut defense and keep everything else.

  • Who writes the transcripts because if you turn on the close caption(CC) button you get some real interesting subliminal message about Netflix. I guess the TYT doesn't really like Netflix.

  • This is sad. Even the Joint Chiefs are saying to cut the Military Budget. It is ridiculous how much we spend. We could level any other country with half of our budget and we don't have anyone who poses an existential threat like we did in the Soviet Union and you could even argue that the arms race was hogwash because we overestimated the Soviet Military. And Secretary Gates was a huge promoter of that arms race

  • Obama can't do shit because your Military runs the whole show folks!

  • Guys, guys! It's the defense budget! Why shouldn't they spend on protecting the USA... by... attacking...(?)

    (O.o)"

    This stupid country.

  • Guys, watch the opening Netflix ad with captions. Trust me, it's worth hearing what Google thinks Cenk is saying.

  • thats messed up

  • how funny are the subtitles.

  • I still don't know why we call it DEFENSE spending.........

  • @haloboz Uh..... cuz the it goes on defense from evil doers.

  • The US political body is living proof that facts must matter & science respected, otherwise bad things will happen.

  • I know I'm Canadian, but I feel for you guys down there. A harsh economy, corrupt politicians, wars and a budget fiasco only being some of your problems I hope eventually you guys pull it together.

  • @BattleProf53 Ehh it's not as bad as cenk and the young turks make it out to be, there is still some corruption in the US but very little compared to most other Countries. It's just like the news where you hear about it every day so you assume its going on everywhere when it really isn't.

  • I always get envious when I think about all the tech, future projects and military power of the US. But, here in Canada, I'm glad we spend money on the right things instead of having an overpowered and an obscenely expensive military.

  • I once had a professor who worked for the pentagon testing those expensive weapons. he said that in 13.5 years testing those weapons, he had never seen a single weapon that would work on the battlefield. most didn't even work in the lab. Not only is "defense" fuckin up the economy , but their crap don't even work.

  • @ningajedi lol. Pathetic how 59 people actually thumbed this up.

  • Yeah great, Just what the world needs, another fucking war.

  • Amercians will repent, in matter of a few years, what washington and pantagon has done since 2000, and they will deserve it very well

  • Only 58% for miltary?? No wonder we're losing the war on terror! We MUST INCREASE DEFENSE SPENDING!! :D

  • @JDubs878 Be very careful with sarcasm around TYT viewers.

  • Didn't the USSR use some 57% of its total budget on military spending just before its collapse?

  • @Tounushi you are taking things way out of proportion, and no it didnt

  • @13lackLight

IIRC from a cold war book, the USSR spent a significant portion of their budget on military spending just to keep up with the arms race.

  • @Tounushi

The USSR had NO debt before Brehnev instituted the defense spending hike too. And it actually was around 80%, yes...

  • @Tounushi thus the USA will be even worse than the former USSR, maybe even reviving the former USSR due to a US collaspe.

  • @Tounushi So did the Roman empire!

  • @Tounushi it was a significant portion relative to other countries, and even if that were true it wouldn't be relevant since the chart there was 57% of the U.S. budget if you get rid of social security, medicare, medicaid, and so on. So it would only be like ... not sure but not close to 57%

  • @Tounushi - Yup. And at this rate the US will end up just like the USSR: An over-extended, delusional empire with nothing holding it afloat but debt. If countries were to call in the US's debt or a Second Depression forms we'll be just like the Soviet Union - the facade comes down and we see that we have nothing but crumbling infrastructure, outdated technology, rotting living standards and abandoned factories behind the bloated military budget.

  • @Tounushi The USSR budget was never revealed.

And to be more realistic, it would probably have been somewhere over 90% of all spending.

  • @Tounushi You've made the same mistake that I did when I first watched this video. The graph Cenk uses shows Discretionary Spending (non-mandatory federal spending), which is only a percentage of the whole federal budget. So that 58% is actually a smaller percentage in respect to the overall budget. Military spending is actually (approx.) 20% of the overall federal budget, while medicare and medicaid make up approx. 40% of the overall.

  • Just think of what money could do in africa.............. Did you just puke a little too.

  • @bunkmasterflex In the 30's Korea was just behind Ghana (west Africa) in GDP and pretty much remained poor until after the Korean war. Then America stepped in, in order to make sure South Korea did not turn communist and was a buffer containment state, so America lent/gave Korea ~300m a year...

... now look at Korea: Home of Samsung the worlds biggest electronics firm, look at S Korea VS Ghana... now throw up again when you realise the US military budget could do this for DOZENS of countries.

  • @bunkmasterflex I actually came at the thought of an Africa with universal healthcare and energy independence.

  • @bunkmasterflex - If the US gave half of the still-edible food that we throw away each year to Africa it would actually feed the majority of starving people in Africa.......yeah......(I'm serious)

We could solve a lot of world hunger if the US and the EU stopped these massive subsidies to domestic agribusiness and lowered trade barriers for developing countries to export food to the industrialized world. The GDPs of some developing countries would take off.

  • @A86 Little things are profoundly large in that continent this is something i'm well informed of. If everyone in the united states and canada gave 1 dollar a year in a relief to build schools in Africa then they would have the ability to educate something like 95% of the continents populations regardless of their age.

  • @bunkmasterflex - Damn. I didn't know that fact. That's actually really depressing in a way. :( But in a way it's kind of hopeful because it shows that a lot of the world's problems aren't insurmountable. It just requires the social and political willpower to get it done. If we had something like a Marshall Plan for Africa it could greatly aid the world economy down the line as Africa has enormous economic potential.

  • @bunkmasterflex kenya, ghana, and ethiopia are the only african countries worth helping

  • @jungleman68 In a nutshell the only countries worth helping are the countries with a foundation on which that help can be built. Although with time things change and the amount of countries which will be willing to accept the help might grow. For an example there isn't enough money in the world to change north korea but maybe 80 or 90 years down the line when the people have slightly more power ad understanding of the circumstances it could be done.

  • @bunkmasterflex one at a time. it's time the us realizes it would be better off creating consumers than making countries dependant

  • I honestly believe in order to get America on the right path again we have to fall. Then people will finally realize how fucked our situation is.

  • @NikEgUy101 i agree, lets welcome in Palin as president and hope we are not killed in the chaos :/

  • It's time to put the knife into the military budget ! US is a civil state, not a military state !

  • I thought this was common knowledge?

  • Don't blame Republicans, Muslim country's are like Pokemon.... Gotta catch'em all!

    I choose you ahmadinejad!

  • US will never attack Iran....why....cause they cant handle the shit.....Iran will kill 4 times the soldiers who died like pussies in Iraq and Afghanistan....

  • @jawadmahar ---

If the United States invades Iran, Syria, North Korea as it has with Iraq and Afghanistan...

I mean, it COULD HAPPEN, and when it does you could just say:

"It's your own fucking fault when you see the bodies of loved ones come home, limbs missing, skull cracked, eyes popped when the U.S Empire asserts it's grasp over foreign nations."

    .

Here in Europe, during the Iraq invasion of the Bush Regime, there were huge protests. We talk almost Vietnam-Huge protests.

  • @jawadmahar

in any fight with iran, US military would again have its hands tied like in Viet Nam,..couldn't use all its weapons systems because the world would object. US military if allowed to use its tactical nuclear stuff would turn Iran into a mirror in a very short time

Gd Iran couldn't handle Iraq., fought for 10 yrs, used children to detect mines etc

    dunbass

  • @genie0390

"US military if allowed to use its tactical nuclear stuff would turn Iran into a mirror in a very short time"

    You're a child aren't you.

  • @wtfdoihavetodohere

I was stating the obvious facts, if you can't handle it get off the site and stop talking shit

  • @genie0390 HAHA! Yup you're a child. Tactical nukes? Go play ur xbox.

  • @genie0390

"US military if allowed to use its tactical nuclear stuff would turn Iran into a mirror in a very short time"

    You're totally insane.

The use of weapons of mass destruction without provocation (like an Iranian NBC attack on a US city) is a war crime not to mention totally immoral and genocidal.

Bu then again you seen to be one of those sick bastards who gets wet at the thought of killing millions of people with nukes for fun and profit.

  • @Hammerhead547

don't blame me if you can't handle the fact that war is indeed hell and people die. In Viet Nam the US soldier was not allowed to fight to win but rather fight a defensive war which always turns out to be a disaster!

I was responding to an ignorant person who thinks third world armies can really fight 1st rate forces going full bore! The Gulf war proved my point but even then the US was forced to step down long before they could have really showed their full capabilities!

  • @jawadmahar Not a very smart affair to comment on, considering that for every US soldier killed, there were at least 100 Iraqi, and Afghan casualties. An Iranian invasion would be devastating more so for the Iranians then the US, and it's allies.

  • @edeal86 i will be so ashamed if i were an american , to brag the fact that for every us soldier there were 100 casualties on the iraqi/afghani side.....specially when u fucking know that 99 were civilians

in some cases all 100 were civilians.......

  • @jawadmahar It's unfortunate that you perceive that I was being prideful about what my nation had participated in, but casualties are a known outcome of war. And when one side uses civilians as shields. Well, those death's were the lamentable consequences of the warring nations actions. I for one would feel far more anguish, and shame for the religion I belonged to, if it was being used in for such a blasphemous cause.

  • hey, fellow progressives we need to stop calling medicaid, medicare,"entitlement programs".

we need to call them what they are..."domestic aid'.

  • yes, but lets not forget the bank bailouts, if we took that in to account I wonder what the picture would look like.

  • So my question is, are the wars still off the books or are they a part of the defense budget now? IIRC, the wars are the biggest contributions to the deficit (next to reducing revenues in the forms to lowered taxes and lowered collections).

  • As much as the military needs cuts, things like education definitely don't need more money. We've been raising the education budget by millions for forty years and test scores remain FLAT. There is no magic number that makes test scores higher or erases government inefficiency and incompetence, these are the real problems with public schools.

  • To a hammer, everything looks like a nail. To a secretary of defense, "too many toys" is a physical impossibility.

  • Military vs. Education.... wow..

  • These fucktards didn't put ss, medicare or medicade on the chart? The "Military" slice would shrink to less than a third of the pie if they had. Not that it doesn't need cut, I'm just saying.

  • @HamsterFueledRocket, They didn't put any of the entitlement programs on there because they are talking about discretionary spending. Funding for entitlement programs is mandatory, Congress can control discretionary spending.

  • @HamsterFueledRocket

While probably true, it would also be an inaccurate representation of their impact. Remember those are self funded. I could be wrong, but Medicare and Medicaid are currently fully funded, it is in the future were the problems show up (2025 IIRC). I don't remember the statistics on SS.

  • Correction: The US spends more than the next 18-19 highest spending countries combined. It's not the entire world, just most of it. And yea, the spending in China is the primary factor for not spending more than the rest of the world combined.

  • If the US were to cut defence spending by 95% and ceased to have a standing army (just a reserve), and used the remaining funds wisely, within a generation the entire nation could be ecologically-sound, full of highly productive members, well-educated in free colleges and looked over by a free universal healthcare system, with massive tax cuts to the lower and middle classes to boot.

The real America, however, is of course doomed to poverty and balkanisation...

  • @ningajedi Isnt this exactly the way the soviet russia lost the cold war, all the money spent in defense . jeez

  • defense looks like pac man eating up all the other expenses. it is a good metephore.

  • I was waiting the whole video for him to blame President Obama... he's the Glenn Beck of the left. He connected a bunch of things that had nothing to do with each other and ended up at how Its President Obama's fault. Am I surprised?... No..

  • In the U.S-far right Bible,

Jebus was an arse-kicking action hero waving the Striped-spangled banner, spitting on the poor, stomping out the weak and sick.

He violently broke the neck of commie-nazi-fascists and pour napalm over Muslims and other non-white heathens and set them all alight like Nero's living candles.

    .

He is known as Dollar-Jesus, and with a bullet in the head of the Enemies of Capitalism, he will kick ur ass like Duke Nukem.

    .

That is the American version of our Jesus Christ.

  • @underbjorn DONT FORGET HE LOOKS AFTER NASCAR &NFL TEAM'S

  • @underbjorn And it has been for over 30 years.

  • @underbjorn "napalm over vietnamese and laser bombs on muslims" would probably be more accurate.

  • @ningajedi Not just the roman empire, but also the spanish empire in the XVI century and the british empire as well. The number one mistake superpowers make, over and over again.

  • @ningajedi

Yes, that comparison began long long ago.

  • Leon Panetta is TRULY Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin is VASTLY SUPERIOR to Panetta in every single way. She will nominate a SUPERIOR WHITE CONSERVATIVE WOMAN to be Defense Secretary! Our DOD will be SO MUCH BETTER if it is run entirely by women! President Palin will truly cut our defense budget along with everything else and have the budget balanced in her 1st year and greater surpluses than Clinton during the rest of her 2 terms!

  • American arrogance is appalling.

  • @5233484

Chinese Arrogance is truly appalling! The Palination is FREE of arrogance for it is the DIVINE NATION!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme ---

    trololololololo nanananana aweeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaa olololo TROLL

  • Telling you guys. WW3 is inevitable. It will happen. And it's because of fucking assholes like Obama and pretty much every single politician in office, on the planet.

Millions of innocent people will die because some pencil pushing geeks in suits and ties will tell tell all the boneheads ( who are of course the muscle) out there to kill without question.

  • BOMB IRAN NOW!

  • @tommysch

No need to BOMB IRAN! BOMB AND NUKE CHINA! THE EVIL RED COMMIE DRAGON MUST BE SLAYED and President Palin IS THE DRAGONSLAYER!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme GTFO

  • @ecwaufisxtreme You are aware china also have nukes, right? And balistic missiles. There is no way to go to war against china, the same goes for the rest of the world can´t go to war against the US. So all this defense budget is really attack budget. But today even Pakistan have nukes, so the list of countries you can attack is growing thin. So why spend all this money in military? Makes no sense.

  • Fuck go ahead and attack Iran, start ww3 for all I care, its not like you're winning anywhere anyway... which is truly baffling; with that money you could win using swords or elephants with Gatling cannons if you actually spend it on soldiers and not random contractors. I mean seriously do the math you could hire ALL of India then just give them clubs (GDP 1000$*1000.000.000 = 1 tril. deficit).

  • @Realpra The problem is that we are trying to fight ''clean'' wars. It just doesnt work.

  • @tommysch With 1 billion indians wielding clubs? Sure it will work. Clubs are more or less non-lethal too.

Seriously I will never understand this level of incompetence, with that money I could terraform and colonize Mars, solve the energy crisis (1 t. $ = 1200GW wind, world uses 2000GW) or what ever the f. else I wanted to.

WHY ARE THERE NO ZEPPELINS ANY MORE, THEY WERE COOL!? WHYYY?

    I hate the world...

  • @Realpra

WW3 will not start in Iran, it will start in China!

  • The idea of the US spending 58% of the budget on defense is insane. Need to cut that by at least half minimum.

  • "We must defend our shores from those who would do harm to our people!" Yeah, thing is...who'd WANT to go after America? You've scared every other country off from EVER wanting a war with you; hell, Britain's like a beaten wife appearing on Maury when it comes to being an American ally...you're a global superpower, you don't NEED any more Defense funding; GTFO of Iran & put that money towards something useful, let's say...education, public healthcare, the jobs market, stuff like that!

  • @ningajedi

It collapsed because of a civil war between Christian romans and the none Christians.

While German tribes raided the north, and the Egyptians rallied their leader against the romans.

  • cenk epic face at 3:19

  • I'm going to lol the next time these politicians talk about cutting the deficit. We need to leave Iran ALONE! More money for education, transportation, etc.

  • @jjamerican93

The only way to save this country is to take China OUT and BANKRUPT IT! The EVIL RED COMMIE DRAGON is stealing our money and jobs! We NEED President Palin to drive it down to 4th world status along with the HIPPY FRUITY BENGAL TIGER!

  • OMG! I've never seen that chart. What type of politicians do Americans elect? I used to think I knew more about politics but i am stunned by this 58%.

I am about to recommend this vid to others lolol

  • I'd recommend investing heavily in military tech and research but significantly reducing our troop numbers and involvement in other countries. I'd love to see the 58% drop to 30% and spend the difference on green tech. Problem is with all the tech spending and research we do, we always end up giving it away for free to other nations - the internet anyone? Research sexy green tech and keep it under lock and key :)

  • Attack Iran ha ha. Some one wants to commit a suicide. A rat posion is a alot cheaper.

  • i feel bad for USA people. They have stupid government.

  • @ningajedi Okay if you put it that way. I understand where you're coming from my friend.

But again the US situation is totally different.

It has maintained the largest military expenditures since WWII so it is only logical that it has such a large chunk of the budget. Nobody was complaining this loud about the Military expenditures during the Clinton era. If it wasn't for tax evasion. The US would have 300 billion more every year.

That money could easily be invested in education or science

  • Empire is an expensive addiction to sustain.

  • Having the most badass high-tech stealth fuckin' nuclear whatever tank in the world doesn't mean squat if it couldn't survive crossing a bridge in Minnesota.

  • The U.S Empire "Department of Defense"? Hahahahahaha, xD

    .

    U.S imperialist investments:

    1. Concentration camps like Gitmo, Bagram Air Base and Abu Ghraib.

    2. Extrajudicial executions Che Guevara-style on foreign soil.

    3. Invasions and wars of aggression.

    4. Funding people like Hosni Mubarak, who's police electrocutes, waterbords, rapes and much more on it's victims.

    5. Suddenly the U.S Army is so incompetent that it needs help from commercial mercenaries?

    .

The U.S Empire is a fucking joke.

  • "the ship is beginning to waver off the dock" Cenk, don't do what bill orielly does with speculation of some huge war... at least you're not saying because god is causing it to boot.

  • I'm amazed that they still refer to it as Defense, rather than what it really is. The Offense budget. And hell that is ambiguous as well. Spend that coin on an invading and occupying other countries, and it's offensive how much coin they are spending.

  • Eisenhower's "Military-Industrial Complex" speech anyone?

  • @ningajedi Persian empire might have been a better example

  • Defence spending is irrelevant. What's really critical is that huge OFFENCE spending.

  • Did a poor foreign country discover gold, oil, diamonds? The US will solve their poverty problem with genocide. Cut their water, infrastructure, introduce a puppet government, take away their rights, and indiscriminately carpet bomb random areas. Half your taxes to murder, rape, and pillage. God bless the USA!

  • So when Iran be finally attacked?

The silly season is there and nothing exciting on the news now that Libya and Fukushima became boring. The popcorn lobby should join the lobbying efforts for a good ol' war.

  • @ningajedi That's not how the roman empire collapsed...

There were many reasons and the largest being the migration of germanic tribes.

It was not their defence spending! The Roman empire had many different ethnicities and people.

And the emperor's rule started to wane because of it. Many didn't feel 'Roman' any longer, so they didn't know why they should defend it. And also the borders of the Roman Empire made it difficult to defend against invading enemies. Don't spread lies

  • It's not the defense, it's the offense.

  • I disagree with Cenk a 100% It's not defence that is causing the budget deficit. It's the revenue side. And we should not cut defence spending. Cenk knows that, why is he talking this way. Every year the IRS loses 300 billion dollars in revenue because of tax evasion. That's half of the defence budget!! You want to blame defence? The US has had the highest military expenditure since WWII. Never stopped us from having our surplus in the clinton era.
  • I just wish all parties would delay any escalation till 2012 ends then we will know that there will be no end of days Armageddon. The end of the age should only be the end of an age NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

  • Technically the politicians are right in this video. Technically they are correct, since the question is: Is the defense budget the CAUSE of the deficit? The answer is of course, the military budget is not the CAUSE of the deficit, so he said nothing wrong.

  • It's ironic that the U.S. is spending so much money on the DOD and 911 still happened :D

  • @ReiGrim

we were spending a lot before 911 but its much higher now. But that also brings up important questions as to what exactly the US government knew about 911 before it happened

  • @JMarkD89 Well, what do rich guys like? Whores and coke!!! And thus they invent a new thing for the mass to fear (in the 80' communism, in the 90' drugs, today terrorism), to distract us from their agenda.

On the 911subject, I still can't believe that guys with box cutters defeated a multibillion dollar defense system :D

  • @ReiGrim That is one unfortunate smiley.

  • Gates made a speach june10 in belgium where he complained that the NATO countries and Europe in general are not spending enough on its military. Seeing as there is no credible military threat to Europe the only thing that would warrant more spending is some offensive action...

    .

  • @tomte47 i can understand why he said that. Nato is a defence coalition where they also do peacekeeping missions like the defence against somali pirates. When defence is cut down by certain countries, it puts more pressure on the other countries to provide more forces

  • Iranians are tough for u guys ! but really what would be next there's still Pakistan , Egypt ,Syria , Turkey and the Saudis .

you r not gonna defeat all the muslims u simply can't .

hope u guys wake up and care for ur self not for the zionists .
