It should have been delivered differently however I think the real message here was about slavery. Not racism. In fact, the second you mentioned law suit, you lost my attention. African Americans complain that american history does not include nor tell the entire story yet when a teacher made an effort to show exactly how serious racism is she's wrong....Granted, she should have asked permission, involved parents and staff yet why does the Black community always get outraged by any action taken outside of our community.

@Khristtana I am also a Secondary History teacher. And, absolutely not!!! that any permission should have been asked? It should of never taken place. It was a sick, disgusting judgement. And, the parent should definately sue and that teacher should never be granted license ever again. It was a vile emotional attack on this child. I can't believe this did not go viral around the world. Racism must be stopped. If you allow this then what's next? It's okay for the kids to beat the slaves?

Again, I reiterate the teacher delivered the education incorrectly by not including staff, parents and making it a lesson involving everyone with a clear understanding of what the purpose of the auction was. @MinaRoss1978 is important because school boards do not focus on the history of not just African Americans but all cultures. Education is based on standardized testing and nothing more. I think in my opinion the teacher was attempting to give an educational lesson on the history of slavery based on the truth. However, she should have made it a month long lesson ending in this "mock auction" and alternating students being sold etc. I do not think the assignment was planned properly

There was no need for this teacher hold this kind of event there are other ways to teach children about the sad and deplorable events of our nation if she really wanted to get her point accross she could have shown them the movie amistad or another movie of that nature. She was out of line completely and needs to apologize and have some kind of disciplinary action.

So, when I first heard about this "Mock Slave Auction" I thought it was a toned down, colorblind version. Still VERY questionable, but not nearly as horrible as I now realize it was after watching this video.

The Public school system is designed, according to living landscape. They need to design this system to make cheap laborers and business owners. When you find some that go to these whites schools and is showing more intelligence then the whites, are humiliated at a grand skill, to bring in the behavior issues.
