Thanks im the singer from crucible that was at an awesome two day event with bands from all over the world. We also did a cover from genisis Down and Out.
That was an awesome performance and such an awesome band! Are you still with Crucible? That was 12 or 13 years ago. Forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question there but I'm stuck in the '70s. You've got an incredible voice!
@TheHellRaider Who is HH? Please ckeck The Aviator Movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, besides been one of the gratest Movie producers such as the original Scar Face, The Epic Hells Angels and many more, he also was a great pilot breaking many records in the 20th century, He also was the Owner of TWA and while he was hospitalized he invented the position bed as we know it today and also the push up bra. Also rent HH biography, you'll be amazed of his telents.
This song is clearly about Howard Hughes. I'll repaeat this, its written about Howard Hughes. Its mainly Kerry's song, Steve contributions to this song is minor
i have kansas live at the whisky & king biscuit flower hour and on both steve doesn't have the range he use to.but on two for the show steve's voice is great.i guess a lot of touring takes a toll on your voice.
Steve does sound rough, but that is only to be expected with a living instrument like the voice. Could have been ill, tired, drugs or all three. On the other hand, Robbie sounds fantastic especially when he sings "I held this nation in my hand and yet it's not my home!" I always felt Robbie never got the recognition as a singer he deserved because people always compared him to Steve, which is unfair and narrow sighted. He's a completely different kind of singer from Steve, both in tone and style
You're right. The set list for this show was heavy with Robbie Steinhardt sung tunes. I don't know the order of the songs so either he got hoarse as the show went on or he sang his way through it (probably the former) because he sounds amazing on "Lonely Street" and "Carry On". I'm sure he had his nights because he is after all human.
That's what is so incredible about Kansas. They played almost everything live and nailed it time after time! Very few bands of this caliber came claim the same!
Nice Video. If you need any help getting your video/channel exposed I use a site called Tubeviews . Net They have helped like 5 of my videos get ranked on the first pages.
Kansas if just bluntly fucking eternal!

My all time favorite Kansas song!

They should all go to studio and make a new album with kerry.
That would be my biggest wish.
This touring the hole year is to much.

Its said that Walsh had partied his ass off prior to the remaining concerts Kansas was to perform in 1977, and that is why his voice sounds like ass

The only thing I hate about Steve is that he's done so much harm to his wonderful voice...
But still, while sounding so rough and tired, he has that special touch!

I've heard touring can be a bitch, depending upon how aggressive the schedule is.
I can't believe they pulled of the instrumental section live, and at a higher tempo than the studio version. Amazing!

I agree. Something must have been up. He's avoiding the upper register. for example, on 'filled his days'

I think he was sick.
