I think the reason why you have crackly noise is that maybe your levels arent set up to peak at zero decibels or volume meters... maybe there is distortion and/or bad cables? Maybe you have to lower your volume in N64... Also they do have a vcr/dv box that has a firewire output which is much higher quality than USB and minimal lag time of say 30 miliseconds... and their both digital and firewire protocols speak together so you could program with special settings and have those transpire 2 mac!

Okay so I bought the 50 dollar dazzle at bestbuy right, and so i install the software but I did not get anything about a pinnacle video capture software at all. All i got on the disc was studio 14 movie edititing system. But I don't need that. Do I need to buy the 80 dollar dazzle? I still have yet to get all the splitters and and av cables and what not. Do i need to get that stuff going first for some reason to get the capture software? please answer

@hotyellowcat No, this device uses composite cables and cannot do HD.  I've looked into the Game Capture HD and have seen great things, especially that you don't need a computer to use it (but do need an external hard drive). Also, the Game Capture HD seems to only record in 720p, but not sure if this is true (the videos I've seen on YouTube have only been in 720p from it).

How do you get an av cable to go into N64, mine still has the ariel cable, i tried using a ps2 av cable didn't work (fitted in but came up with no picture) and then i tried using the nintendo wii av cable but that wouldn't even fit in. Just wanted to comment and say thank you for posting this! I was able to successfully capture some gameplay using this method. I was using a Roxio video capture device instead of Dazzle, but the interface was practically the same anyways so it worked fine.

I have the Pinnacle Studio Moviebox which seems to be very similar to the dazzle and my main two problems are 1) Since setting up the system, my Tv and Recordings have been in Black and White but only while using S Video Cable. If i use the Composite Cables then its in color but alot less quality. My Second Problem is 2) The recording runs fine for about 25 seconds and then it freezes. It seems as if it cant take whats going on on the screen. someone please send me a message to tell me what todo

i need help with my setup, first of all i got everything i need; the dazzle device, xbox 360, computer, s video av cable and component videocable with an extra s video cable. I set up everything like i was supposed to, i plugged the xbox s video cables into the input on my video distrubution amplifier and plugged in the other cables into the tv and my dazzle. But heres my problem: the color on the tv was in black and white, and i couldnt get a signal to my dazzle using s video. please help
