  • Great looking boat. I love that it sails with the wind and does not use a propeller. Can you do a video of a build or give list material? Way cool!

  • where can i get a kit to build that

  • @deathcar99 There are no kits available that will make a working model...You must actually build a special hand made model if you actually want it to float and sail!

most of my models sail in calm lakes with light winds.

  • it's working on the sea?

  • nice galleon

  • its sooooooo cool

oh and btw whats that on ur cam??? tht black dot (hope its not a dead bug xD)

  • @Amerfira it's the kraken!!

  • i love how its sailing with the wind..

    thats just one master piece...

    good job!

  • @18jimmyboy

I sail it only on light wind days because it cannot handle high winds,no modern ballast keel!... had to make another ship just for those days and it has the modern style ballast keel... cannot be knocked down by high winds!

  • @sanddragon99 same here with knockdown conditions!... I built a second black pearl with the modern keel but now I really need to refine my rig as I discovered that none of these era ships tack well at all!

My bluenose schooner is by far my fastest and most maneuverable ship, and even sailed in choppy salt water seas of the Florida keys!

My ultimate goal is to reach that of the blue nose status!

  • dude! I want it! <3

  • Awesome audio quality.

  • how much did it cost and were do i get it

  • @777kevin777lucky

I would say it costs about 200 dollars or more in materials and electronic gear...It took 3 months to plan and build it.

  • @sanddragon99 i think its worth it. Is it buy sail or morter

  • @sanddragon99 ok thank you

  • @777kevin777lucky What are the odds that he lives in the same country as you, even more, nearby you? Or you are willing to cross the globe for this model?

  • @777kevin777lucky trend times.com for like 70 bucks

  • neat

  • OMFG so awesome!! hope yopu can make the dutchmans boat

  • oh noes the kraken!!! aaaaahhhhhh!! *crunch* x.x

  • So decent, Great job man, great job.

  • @Monkeyrapper5 ....AAArrrrhhhh!

  • lol

  • how do you get a RC PIRATE BOST AND THAT LOOKS COOL

  • You really meant Rc pirate Boat?

This one is hand built and is made of wood... It is not available as a kit so it is all hand crafted from scratch... Only the RC control and some sailing servos were added so now it sails.

There are no propellers and it can only sail if there is any wind.

  • good job, you must be pro, i got a 25cc speed bout we biult . it is 4 ft long and goes about 40 mph but goooood job

  • How do you make the electronics???or do you get them from another ship

  • You must go to a hobbyshop or buy them from the internet. all great electronic gear can even be purchased from RC boat magazines so you don't need to strip another ship for parts!

my only problem would be finding a lost remote in a box full of em!... no sweat I will just change crystal frequency!

    LOL!

  • ah i see now .... but could i take a motorboat's motor and stuff out of it and switch the motors with servos???... this is going to be my first one so i have no idea what to do!!!

  • Servos are different from motors. please look it up or actually visit a hobby shop and they may show you. a motor is in the servo but is made to rotate an arm usually used for stearing or throttle control.

a motor just turns! cheap toy boats cannot be run like proffessional rc models because they couldnt be raced if frequencys crossed or matched other toys. professional gear means you could sail in a large event with many boats... you will also get better range!

  • How much do you sell it for?

  • Not for sale!

besides, no one I ever knew ever offered the price for what it was worth to build it so I see no proffeit in making and selling them!

This ship was built for personal challenge and bragging rights!

  • Oh, ok. Or at least some blueprints for another ship?

  • I could draw up ble prints but they would need to be read by an experienced ship builder because it would really just show how to rigg the vessel, you would need to fill in the blanks!

I used books on historic vessels to build my vessels.

  • Ok thanks.

  • Hiya...i was wondering is it possible to make one powered by the wind alone??? Without a propeller...

  • This model is powered by wind alone. I don't know why people think this ship has a propeller. in all the other videos as well as some taken underwater, there is no propeller on this ship!

It is a RC sailing vessel that needs wind to make it go!

I must sail and tack just like other sail boats.

  • where is the water place

  • The Ship in this video is sailing in the Hammock community lake in front of the clubhouse in west kenndal Miami Florida.

Most of the public sailing take place down the street at the lake in front of the Hospital by Dadeland Mall. Most of the boaters are found there on sunday at 3pm. Ships found here range from mostly ready to run sloops, racing yachts, tall ship schooners, tugs and steamers, gas burners and an occational pirate ship!

  • the black pearl is the fastest and the strongest with the wind the fling dutchman is against the wind faster but its strong and than the interceptor is the fastest but weakest (not so weak)

  • Only in the movies but in reality the Flying Dutchman would be a slow lumbering galleon, The Black Pearl being smaller would almost match it in speed but slightlly faster- both are good going Downwind but are slow on an upwind tack. The Interceptor being a Schooner rigg is more modern and would have advantages in an upwind tack and could do possible speeds matching clipper ships! ,Chinese Junks are also of superior design and are still currentlly the oldest designed ship in use! they sail fast !

  • how does it sail witout a small propeller?

  • It is being blown by the wind, All sails are actually operational and it will sail just like the real thing!

  • gostei muito dos seus navios voce esta de parabéns muito bom o seu trabalho espero nos encontrarmos um dia por ai pra bater papo like many of their ships of congratulations you are very good your work hope we are there for

  • see if you can make a video showing the assembly of a ship and the engine it please, please, please, please, yes

  • were did u get that jw i was looking into getting an rc boat

  • You can build these ships if you are already experienced in ship model construction, This is not a kit available for sale and even if they made one - They probally didn't think of designing all the rigging and electronics for an RC version... so far all I have seen were toys!

This ship can be built and It is indeed sea worthy!

  • My black Pearl sank......

guess my RC recycled ship was not strong enough against big waves...

    T__T

  • the black pearl is the fastest ship in the carribean.. this ones the fastest ship in the lake! Q.E,D... its the only ship in the lake! savvy?

  • That right!

but after this film was made the model provoked interest around the lakeside community .

Now the lake has 2 RC tugboat captains and 4 sailing seadogs!

  • fucken love the boat man awsome

  • water is so clear, it looks like the ship is flying.

  • some of the Lakes in Miami are very well tended fresh water spring fed and also contain Koi gold fish!

    Sorry no Gators here!

  • Thank You for your reply. I've been to south beach miami and the water is very nice. Also been to the westside of mid FL very nice as well.

  • Just don't put any RC electronics in the Ocean because some how that is fatal to them so I will stick to sailing in only Fresh water!

    - My Boats are more Expensive to fix and are even more complicated than average!

  • I always wondered, what if it gets out of range of the RC controller and it's in the middle of the water?

  • Most radio controls have a range ove well over 1000- 2000 feet! most sailors will not sail a boat furter than 300 feet because they will appear tiny and making out any heading becomes guess work!

Out of range usually happens to aircraft!- Most vessels may be becalmed on lakes and will sit there until the wing picks up.

I have sailed ships without a working RC control- very old school!- you will always have to chase the vessel and It is hard to adjust it to sail a perfect straight course.

  • u could tie a rope or sting to it and hold onto that just in case but othar than that ur swimmin

  • BTW...did u made this SHIP??

    coz it awesome..

  • I made this ship by hand! It is built out of balsa- bass wook frames and planked with coffee stirrers, ang resin glassed.

  • WoW. You are very skilled then:)

  • gust dont run in to a rc kraken or real sqwid

  • should get make the flying dutchman and put cannons on em and have a friend drive one

  • I have seriously considered building another vessel. It is very complicated work building a ship just to sail...If I make them fight then I will have to cut down on fine detail because of the heavy damage they dish out- this is best done on videogames.

Sorry but I will stick to building beautiful sailing vessels that won't have to be repaired from a battle!

  • i totally agree with u mate...coz have my homemade sail ship once..with cannons...it backfired and took fire...........my pretty ship sank beneath the sea.. or the lake.....

but it was fun watching at it burning and sinking SLOWLY...

  • All you need are tiny cannons and a friend with the same.

  • There are not a lot of people like me who build these- I am all alone!

you are not likelly to see any RC pirate ship builders meeting and that would be rare!

  • That's a shame. There should be a whole fleet of stuff. Well, ok, maybe not RC, but there are model ships. They have races and stuff I believe, but maybe not where you live.

  • I have not seen other RC pirate ship modelers, sailing Out here in Miami, and Usually all I see are Gas boats and sloops. This City lacks proper hobby shops and stimulating RC community, The people I meet are video gaming punks! I do something great and the still talk trash!

  • At first... Very nice!! How big is the ship?

  • It is a small 2 and half foot hull with no modern keel or propellers. It is very sensitive to gusty winds and the servos need to turn faster and at higher angles of attack to tack, tacking up wind is crappy and It is easy to end up in irons!

  • Thanks!, really nice man!

  • whare can i get one

  • sorry there are no remote control models of the black pearl for sail- you will have to build the ship and install all the electronics. all other pirate ship models could be kit bashed or customized to look like the pearl.

  • can u make me one and i'll buy it from u...name the price.... just keep away from a million and hundred thousands ok......lol...no seriously make me one ill buy it.....

  • I couldn't make this to sell because none of my ships are perfect sailing vessels, Very tempermental to the slightest winds that are scaled down gales and hurricanes! My ships require constant repairs due to ulralight rigging and shipping accidents to the lake! If I sold anyone this vessel they would already have to know how to sail and even know some electronics as well as take the vessel apart for repairs- I also work for Disney sometimes and I might get Blacklisted as an artist or Fired!

  • ok im sorry sir....

  • Thanks for understanding all I can really do is continue experimenting and reporting any technical results, I may later provide an RC pirate ship that isn't Trademarked Copywrited that will be totally glitch free. As of now It isn't even Legal for me to sell even Blue prints of this ship!

Thank you for the nice offer sir.

  • how much and can the cannons shhot

  • the pirate ship is equipped with static brass cannons that do not fire, making this ship shoot is possible in a later design but first I must conduct more sea trials!

  • theres a kraken on the camera lol

  • Probablly explains Capt. Jack Sparrows haisty rush for land as seen in the video!

  • cool model

  • Thank you and she still is a wonder to see on the lake!

  • one word mate..........pirate..

  • ima build one like it when it comes in and ima make blue prints its not going to be exactly the same but its width its higth and how long and how much it weighs will be the same i hop eif he will let me

  • Nice job, the ship is so cool. And its using sail power alone, awesome!

  • ay jack we ran aground

  • ya too much rum! it was a short video filmed to the music.

  • Someone throw a brease block or something!

  • settle down you!

    arrhhh dee darrh!

  • Get the KRAKEN will!

  • where can I buy it from?

  • this ship cannot be bought as a kit and there are no plans available by disney, unless you like their toys! this ship is hand made out of wood like other proffessional models and was built after studying other ships as well as movie stills in order to produce it.

  • hey, just wondering, what are the sails made of? Also, are the sails actually functioning, or is it just a propeller underneath?

  • IN OTHER VIDEOS TAKEN OF THIS SHIP, THE MODEL IS POWERED BY SAIL ALONE AND HAS NO PROPELLERS.

The ship behaves and operates like the real thing!

  • did you make your pearl out of the black pearl blueprints, or just, took the model of other ship?

I like yours, exept that is too shot of long, but the rest is pretty cool, with the servos, and the system you did in the sails to move,...

  • I had no blueprints- I had to studie the still shots taken from the movie to draw a plan of the ship. My ship is built out of wooden coffee stirrer planking over a balsa and bass wood frame. un seen and up close the hull and sails were made to look distressed.

at the time of my filming there were no other modelers attempting to build a sailing model.

  • But There exist blueprints for the black pearl. XD

  • This isn't a black pearl scale, that other ship, mine is a scale one. Put in youtube...Black Pearl Model, and you will see...

  • I actually built 2 of these ships but the one I built to most acurate scale was to dificult to add the RC controlls and ment that I had to sacrifice precious detail to clear the decks and make function- this is why I built 2... the one you see now is my Robot version and It is made to just plain sail and there is no engine to cheat!

  • Nice ship, great enviroment, good atmosphere but noob video. you should add music later in. to me it sounds like you've been running with the radio along the ship.

  • actually was filmed with music blaring in the background during an event, I add music now on all my other videos now.

  • can u sail it with the sails alone or do u have to have an enine?

  • all by pure sail.

  • I wish I knew how to make one of those :(

  • It is not easy even if you already know what to do!

Tying all those knots in the rope ladders called ratlines is a real task!

Start with simple ships and work your way up!

  • ya know, I made a a galleo, and was proud as hell, but then I launched it on a day that started fairly windy, then got really windy. The galleon's planking was very, very, very thin, so after colliding with a rock (some big rocks go from the bottom of the pond I sail on and peirce the surface by inches)the planking broke and the ship started flooding fast, and the wind pushed it farther away so I couldnt save it,until I got a pool net and fished it out of the pond....

  • Keep practicing, this is an art and a science, you can only get good by refining and redesigning your ideas and then testing them in the field, and in this case its ok to get your feet wet!

  • thats so cool!!

much cooler then electric war ships and stuff in my opinion ;P

  • did that ship go by wind or did it have an extra engine?:O srry that i ask this :S

i see this for the first time now :S

    (sorry for the bad english)

  • It sails only by wind alone, there are no propellers and it is very tempermental to tack on windy days, she can be very fast though!

  • Oh, and if I send you my email address can you help me with building something like this? PS im getting a model sailboat to learn how to sail before I finish the galleon.

  • NICE IDEA, you might find that the modern sail boats sloop rig superior to the Galleon rigg, Remember that pirate ships rigg will never perform as good as one of those.

  • I know, but I need to start with something easy, before something hard.

  • Sanddrago99, im sending you a PM. Can you read and Reply back to it?

  • whats a pm?

  • PM for short is a Private Message, its to the right side of your username. The envelope should be partly red and say you have a new message.

  • I saw the Pm you sent me- the ships are Fantastic RC models! and I like the fact that they point out that rigging a ship is like some form of robotics and thats the way I see it!

Oh and I am never offended by the great works of others, more like the lack of, or waste of others potential is a pity and seeing others in action is always inspiration!

    thank you!

  • I just thought that those were cool, I read the new website they made. IT says that they made model ships for Pirates of the Caribbean to use in some scene.

  • hopefully there may yet be more pirate movies...ARRHHH DEE DARRRHH!!!!

  • They are making a 4th pirates of the caribbean

  • So, the ship is about a foot and a half long. Whats the estimate of how big it is from the keel to the top deck?

  • 4 1/2 inches to 5 inches from main deck to keel...(hint) seal the gun deck as mine get too much water on windy days and is very annoying... I may want to rebuild this ship again to make it perfect... too many other artistic jobs are keeping me buisy and I have to make more sand dollars on the beach!

  • Victor, with your skill I bet you could make an RC Kraken that goes around and sinks other RC ships, lol.

    Good work.

  • Beware the Kraken! I planning a 7 foot+ Zeppelin which is a real challenge as well as a flying Dutchmann pirate ship...Trust me Zeppelins are really hard!

time to break out the calculater to make a 7 foot object wiegh next to nothing! maybe I will call it Flying D!

  • It sounds really hard, how are you going to make it? It seems like it will be extreamly fragile.

  • I already bought some really expensive 4 channel servos and I have a blue print for both the Graf Zeppelin and the Hindenburg.

I had the enlarged to 7 feet at kinkos and I have some ultralite Micro cut wood for model railroads which I use in my model trains.. Its possible to build a scale Effiel tower but I always wanted to do another zeppelin!

the airship is extremely fragile and is complicated to make- Its hard to committ and Lay a keel!

  • nice, get a British ship, they are the best- such as the Endeavour

  • no way :P dutch ships are much better :P 7 prvincien :D:D

  • Arrhh dee darrhh!!

    GTA pirate F-Dutchman mission:

    Steal a ship,

    Get a crew,

    Get a way,

    hide the rum!

  • Some one would yell at me for not running out all the guns in an Rc version.

a Zeppelin is distracting me right now in my projects. maybe that will be Flying Dutchman!

  • What a cool fast ship, so awesome.

  • Usually I set sail at the Hammocks Lake in Kenndal.

Dont skimm board there due to the Kraken!

  • AHAAAH!! THERE IS SOMETHING BLAXKS ON THE CAMERAA!

    ITS THE FCKING KRAKEN!

    Or just water..

  • yes that is the bloody kraken my lense! LOL

I will reshoot some more videos now that I have Fixed the camera!

  • Woohoo!1

  • omg 1000 .............. very expensive.

  • I would pay 100 dollars if someone would lace up all my deadeyes- ,Ratlines , complicated knots and all the rigging! The hull of the ship is built like the real wood planked hulled ship unlike cheap molded plastic hulls and dont forget all the brass metal fittings, those are not cheap! check out the cost of a good scale anchor... it all adds up!

This is one of my favorite hobbys- the ship is not for sale!

  • how much????????????????????? please

  • The market on these kind of model ships is very strange and mostly expensive considering the amount of time it takes to build, expect even kit ships simular to be about over $1000 and over.

  • you should put a bunch of time delayed explosives on it. me likey BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • settle down now! I only do that to the ENEMY!

  • Is this the one made by Megatech? Cool boat!

  • No!!!! this is a custom made ship made of coffee stirrer planking and balsa / bass wood. It has 2 FUTABA servos for radio control. the ship has no propellers and sails like a true tall ship for my own personal sailing sail simulations which are usually scale storms!

  • ... gosh you are so lucky..to be able to build these.. or just have it.. it is so awsome.. i would kill to have somthing like that... i just don't have the money *sobs* i love the detail its so awsome

  • THANK YOU----ARHH DEE DARRHH!!!

  • I'm currently coding the Azov, a russian naval frigate into the game as a raondom nation ship, replacing the frigate ship type with no top galliants (Ugh! I hate three masters with no top galliants!)

  • Actually the black pearl may have those sails, she may even have extra studded sail capabilities that were never actually used in the movie, (Think MASTER AND COMMANDER)I noted her fore mast has 2 sqare sails- her main 3 and stern mast 1 lateen sail and 2 square sails. in the first movie she had only all square rigg, but may have sported a single gaff rigg. The ship was never consistant between movies.

  • You'd probably be good at a naval frigate as well, that would be a good challenge. I am a modder for a computer game called Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales (coding cheif) and I get to see a lot of model specs, most of the ships don't look to hard to phisically build.

  • Ya I am very good at this... my only problem is how to get decesent paying customers,The art is complicated and expensive, I play only battlefield 1942 and all the modds but I have to stop and work otherwise I will not get my pay!

  • you should make an h.m.s. surprise ship model from the film master and commander

  • arrhhh dee darrrrhhh!!!.....Sooon!

  • Theres Bug on camera!

  • the camera needs repair due to a leak in the water tight seal that left a water mark, I do not know if I can fix it and Im busy using my time and money building the ships.

  • fantastic...is it all powered by sails then?

  • Yes this vessel is competely wind powered and can be at times at the mercy of the winds! It is not a very good ship to use for tacking up wind and is often beaten by other sailing sloop rigged vessels but she's fast when the wind runs her beam!

  • great ship how do you build it

  • This is a custom plank on frame model it took 9 months to figure out how to build the black pearl--- and construction is a long story!

  • was this model and thenyou added stuff or was it all custom made? this model ir AMAZING! hey you should make the flying dutchman!

  • Im working on it but first I have to finish off several ships in bottles!

I still need more data on the stern of that ship!

  • nice model well done

  • wow if i made that it'd be more like 400 cups of coffee XD... great idea and great work

  • Thanks. I always like to get creative ... but I must have more coffee! ARRHH DEE DARRRH!!

  • is it prop or sail power. i want to get a full size boat and make it rc XD like a laser or a topper

  • This boat is powered by sail- no prop and its not a kit- everything is hand built custom work.

  • maybe people think its a kit because the movies look the same, maybe because its THE SAME SHIP?

    awesome vid dude.

  • I took multiple videos because it wasnt easy to film and steer the ship at the same time! and my fellow sailor pirates who also build ships keep asking to see the other videos of this ship in action. Its 2007 and there is no current RC kit in exsistance so I still call my bragging rights!

  • very cool ::applause::

  • YARRRHHH! DEE DARH!---YA!

  • since you built it yourself, tu-shay. any fool can build from a kit

  • Thats right! no kit here - ON GUARD!

  • where can u buy them

  • You cannot buy a kit of this ship yet- its not available as of now... you got to hand build your own ship. I bought my last batch of coffee stirers on the internet but usually I haunt coffee hangouts and use bribes.

  • You can make beautiful ships from coffee stirrers I can tell

  • Thanks! Ive been doing this since 1989,The coffee stirrer planking is my time tested material of choice. Its easy to cut and bend and the are so standard and available. 10 dollars of coffee stirrers could make a small pirate ship hull!

  • sorry its not a kit

the other movies was of u^^

  • Thats my ship!!! I am trying to make a really good video but its hard to sail and film at the same time, keep an eye out for more videos I may add later of this and I still establish my bragging rights!

  • there is many movies of exactly the same model

  • yes it is a kit
