Are you playing the american version(NTSC one)?

If so then that version has a few changes compared to the Europen version(PAL),

one of them is that Anima's overdrive only makes one hit, I think it supose to make game easier(fight with Seymour) but in leter game it makes Anima almost useles.

@gergenfonchen I agree. And I heard news that FFXV will be an action/rpg unfortunately. So I don't think they'll be returning to the turn based style. I feel like FFX had a real-time/turn based style that worked and FFX-2 (even though the story sucked) did it even better. If they had have kept it that way, things would have been fine. They may as well just drop the Final Fantasy name and call it something else now :-/
