@MegaMontecarloss, Negative!! I Clearly state 5.0 in the info and he had an cobra intake on it with some drag radials and probaly some other shit I didn't catch lurking under the hood. LOL!! I don't recall seeing headers but hell, he could have easily had some ported heads, manifolds or what not. But my friend didn't launch well at all!! and was still catching up so in the 1/4 he would have walked him!......so.......yeah
That Mustang must have been modded. Because the Monte Carlo supercharged runs 0-60 in 6.4 and the 5.0 Mustangs were probably in the 7's. In a 1/4 mile that time would only widen.
That's nothing....there's guys who swap out to a turbo charger, and are putting down 600+ at the wheels, which is somewhere way above 700 crank HP. Think of the old 3.8 Buick GN.... pretty much the same block with fuel injection, and tons of possibilities for tuning.
There's alot of guys now. One of our local guys up here in Toronto has a 2004 GTP, turbo, and also swapped out the auto trans for a 6-speed manual from the G6. If you have cash to burn, you can do anything really. I like to stay supercharged though... it's just my preference to have mind numbing torque at my tippy toes.
If you guys want to lay some real power down with those 3800s, send me a message... I can put you in touch with the right vendors who sell parts to really wake up these. I've rebuilt my '04 SC SS, and instead of a meager 240hp, I'm now sitting between 450 and 500, running mid 12s all day long in the 1/4 - 110mph
