@cast390 your an idiot. Five tube watts cranked is going to sound muffled with all that low end through the video cameras small crappy speakers. if you ignore muffling sound in the video cameras speakers and just listen to the amps amazing tone.. you wouldnt be saying that.
I've had one of theese for two months now and I love it, the distortion is perfect. The thing is that it is not good for gigs, because it distorts very soon so... I got a SM57 today to mic it. Lets see how it works.
@kaddmus I own an SM57 as well actually...any suggestions how to get the higher pitch tones, as I notice I gets a slight midi tone, in a sense. The lower ends sounds amazing, but how do you recommend recording from your own experiences so far? I noticed the best results i tried so far was about 6 inches away at a slight angle but...what do you reckon?
I played through and the cleans sounded good but you had to crank the amp up way to loud to get distortion. By no means is this a bedroom volume amp if you want some hair on your tone. I guess you could put an OD pedal and lower the volume with the pedal..... The lower wattage mode sounded like crap.
Cool little amp. I love its clean to crunch tone. Only 5 watts? This Marshall crunches better than my fender hot rod 112. What's the difference between class A and A/B watts. I think my hot rod is A/B. Not sure.
You can simply mic the amp just before it gets dirty if you want clean sound, That muggy sound is awsome for like a kaiser chief sound, but to get rid of it, just drop the bass. I wouldn't recomend this amp for hard rock metal players. i think its great for jazz blues, classic rock, joe satriani style lead. it's great with all pedals accept heavy metal pedals. though this would go down an absolute treat with analogue distortion pedals and the line 6 dm4 which gearmandude also reviews.
@marlinm60ss123 ........ you have to crank the amp to get the distortion you hear on this video. If you want if for the clean you'll have no problem. I played this at guitar center and I was trying to get it to break up and it was getting to loud in the store and it was still clean. Imagine that in your house, apartment or bedroom.
Still no wah pedals, and nothing within the price range of the normal person, come on! Give us a review for something we'll actually buy. Instead of something we'll dream of buying
@JarglemyYarbles The class 5 is like 400 bucks......... That's cheap for a marshall, and tube amps in general. you can't go any cheaper with any amps without going into like the super cheap modeling turds.
I played one of these and had high expectations, but it just sounded muddy to me no matter how I set it. Maybe its just because my ears are accustomed to fender amps.
@billyjt4 I can definitely see how it would seem muddy to someone used to Fenders. I have a boost and OD pushing mine all the time. My OD pedal is tube driven with an awesome EQ section that really gets rid of the mud. My C5, with my particular setup sound amazing! :)
Great amp - it loves Tele's! I have one from the 1st production run and it doesn't rattle. Played it all day today with a Boss Blues Driver and a 50's Road Worn Tele!
@GuitarBlues3 I think it would be funny as hell if GMD got the real JB over to his house and had JB reveal himself as GMD in a vid, then about 10 vids later, reveal himself...... "the real GMD"! I know good and well the real JB has heard of GMD by now. Hell they probably drink beer and laugh about it. JB may write a damn song of it all.
do they make them in 2x12's????

@JarglemyYarbles the best way to know what a pedal especially wah sounds like is to play it yourself. and you can get a class 5 for under $300
