They win on the running of Lydell Mitchell, who scores 4 TD's on the way to a 30-6 victory for Penn State. It is one of the first times the Texas wishbone offense is completely controlled by a superior Penn State defense.

I've got nothing against WVU because they are my second favorite team behind my Lions and I also live in WVA, but I can tell you a lot us Nittany Lion faithful would love to start this series again. Unfortunately conference games and tie ins will probably prevent this from happening for a while. And don't rag on JoePa. Nope, Penn State owns the SEC and Big 12. Penn State is also undefeated against Texas in bowls. And Penn State has a winning record against the SEC in bowl games. Don't count on Penn State choking in the title game. Also remember that we beat Ohio State by 4 more points in Columbus than Texas did in 2005.

Except for the fact that you played Ohio State in Happy Valley that year. Penn State was great in 2005 without question, but that Texas team was one of the best I have ever seen. Vince Young and that offense were scary when they hit their stride in midseason, and OSU was the only team all season to hold them under 40.

Look at the scores of PSU's games this year. The only ones that were even close were ohio and iowa. They totally raped everyone else. Oh, one more thing. Michigan beat Florida last year and Penn State beat Tennessee two years ago. Don't blame Ohio's inabiltiy to win big games on the rest of the big 10 and don't cite a mismatch like Illinois vs USC either.

The New York Jets drafted two of Penn States linebackers in 1970. John Ebersole was a strong consistant play maker on some weak Jets teams. Dennis Onkotz was injured in the big upset win over the Los Angeles Rams during the last play of the first half. He never recovered from his injury.

Lydell Mitchell and Franco Harris: Penn State's Thunder and Lightning of the late 60's and early '70s. Both backs would have successful careers in the NFL: Mitchell with the Baltimore Colts and Franco Harris with a Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. You don't see backfield duos like that in college football anymore. Mitchell and Harris were one of the last backfield duos that made college football great back in the day.

I couldn't put this comment on any of the Capelletti videos, but like what happened with John's brother Joey, my brother also suffered from leukemia. I was only four at the time, and he was only two. He had to go through several radiation treatments and doctors appointments in Akron, Ohio in order to survive. Sadly, Joey did not make it, but with John's speech, it gave notice to finding ways to fight and survive this terrible cancer in a time where very few heard about it.

Don't underestimate Penn State. This past year you probably would have smashed us, but in 2005 Penn State would have probably been leading 31-0 at halftime over West Virginia and winning 45-25, or something like that. 2006 would have been a close one, since this was a very underrated Penn State team who only laid a very big egg against Notre Dame, all 3 other losses could have easily gone the other way.

During most of the season, I wish WV well, but not against Penn State.
