@MrLyons0 And sorry to add salt to an open wound but guess what? Religion is a dying breed. Atheism is up 138 percent. From 14.3 million to 34.1million says recent surveys. Sorry but your a dying breed. Soon religion will be seen as obsolete which IT IS. It was a pretty good lie, and it lasted for a pretty long time. But all lies are found out eventually. A lie is a lie, it doesn't matter if they write it down and call it history (reference to the "bible").
@MrLyons0 The jewish swear over the Tanakh, a muslum over the Al-Qur'an. Seriously, are you that stupid? You wear over YOUR OWN RELIGION, and if your an athiest you do nto swear over ANYTHING.
@MrLyons0 ok then why is it when some one runs for a gov job that when they win they have to put their hand over a bible
Thats because most people have to swear over THEIR religion you idiot. Anyone muslum has to swear over the Caran, Jewish over the Tanakh. God your an idiot!
@MrLyons0 (c)religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries" (The Search for Christian America, p. 131).
Strange stuff for a nation that some like to say was founded as a "Christian" nation! Strange stuff, indeed! But myths die hard, if ever!
NO THE USA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION!
Otherwise the founding fathers would have put that in the official papers!
@MrLyons0 (c) of Tripoli in 1797. This treaty was negotiated under Washington, ratified by the Senate, and signed by President John Adams. The telling part is a description of religion in America:
"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion -- as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [i.e., Muslims] ..., it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from (c)
@MrLyons0 (c)the Bible is never mentioned nor alluded to in either document! Nor is God or Jesus Christ mentioned in the hundreds of pages of the Federalist Papers (the "working documents" of the founding fathers). In fact, the United States was the first Western Nation to omit explicitly Christian symbolism, such as the cross, from its flag and other national symbols.
Further incidental evidence of the founders' own views is the statement from a treaty with the Islamic nation(c)
@MrLyons0 (c)of Independence nor in the Constitution of the United States! In fact, the Constitution does not even make a single reference to God! (When Alexander Hamilton was asked why the Constitution fails to mention God, he allegedly replied, "We forgot.") And the reference to God in the Declaration of Independence is merely "Nature's God," a God that is vague and subordinated to natural laws that everyone should know through common sense, i.e., "self-evident" truths. Moreover, (c)
Nevertheless, the "Christian America" myth lives on. We again return to the previous question: If America was truly founded as an explicitly Christian nation (as is continually proclaimed by "Christian" activists such as James Dobson, Pat Robertson, D. James Kennedy, Chuck Colson, Tim and Beverly LaHaye, Jerry Falwell, Bill Gothard, etc.), then why do we find no mention whatsoever of Jesus Christ in America's founding documents? -- not in the Declaration (c)
@MrLyons0 (c)the knowledge and means to subdue the earth and take dominion in the name of Jesus Christ, then that privilege has been terribly abused. If, on the other hand, Satan gave that knowledge and means, his purposes have certainly been accomplished. The fruit of Western Civilization, in spite of its enlightened accomplishments, demonstrates that no attempt to institute the Kingdom of God on earth before Jesus returns can succeed. So the idea of a covenant between America and God (c)
@MrLyons0 (c)of this nation of sovereign states failed to do.
It is apparent that the Western European influences that shaped America were part of what had become known as "Christendom." But a culture based on the idea of "Christendom" does not of itself constitute a culture based on Scripture or an inviolable covenant with God. The history of Christendom is an ugly history fraught with tyranny and the enslavement of those who are less "enlightened." If God gave (c)

Had the constitutions of all these governments, including the federal government, named faith in Jesus Christ as the principle criterion for holding any elective or appointed office, this would have had to be done in the name of Jesus Christ with full understanding of the true Biblical character of His role as Savior and Lord. Florida is now no different than a hick state and deserves to be treated as it always has been: a piece of crap swamp land with no material value whatsoever.
This is going to destroy the cost of housing and it will demonstrate that not only are the people of Florida ignorant and hateful to their fellow man, but they are willing to hoist their hatred up to the tops of their highest forms of government to say forever:
I am not totally convienced that amendment 2 is a good thing. I think I will have to vote yes for 2 because I think marriage should be between man and woman. I feel bad for those couples that are widowed and meet someone else but there is nothing stopping them from getting married. I still have some questions about how their pension would be effected. I don't understand why hetrosexual couples won't marry. The first woman in the video never explained her situation on why she can't marry.
If you aren't totally convinced this amendment is right the way it is, vote no. Make them rework it until you're satisfied. Don't pass something you can't get behind fully. Don't settle for anything less than what is acceptable to you. Myself personally, I'm voting it down. Equal right are not only for certain types of people. It is funny that you said that when I never voted Rebublican a day in my life and will not do so this time around. Ignorant in what? Christian, u right. Can I say u r an Ignorant Atheist Democrat...lol
Not to worry - Amendment 2 merely embeds current Florida law into the constitution so that those who wish to preserve the sanctity of marriage as the union between one man and one woman can feel comfortable that the ACLU or some other group is not going to challenge the law in court. Nothing changes - benefits, powers of attorney, EVERYTHING stays the same. What you hear is being put out by special interest groups who actually want the CHANGE the law rather than keeping it as it is now.
Faggots.

Rude much?
Even if I wasn't a christian,even if I wasn't supporting voting yes to ammendment 2, & even if I wasn't supporting McCain,[which i am to all]
I'd probably vote for them to make people like you mad(:
Yes,science is constantly developing, but it's also been proven wrong a bunch of times.
The Bible is not wrong,AT all.
Morally.Scientifically.Historically.
Oh&You're just dust. I'm just dust. We're all just glorified dust.(:
But yet again, what do I know?I'm just a teenager..
