My husband and I were 38 when Springsteen sang at the LA coliseum in '85. We were at this concert and had so much fun that we returned for another ON A WORK NIGHT, driving 95 miles, and bringing our 7 year old son who stood on the seat and yelled "Bruce, Bruce!!" Great memories, great music!
this song was written around 1983 and recorded during the born in the usa studio sessions, but didnt make the cut to that album. It was released as a B side to a single off the born in the usa album. It remained a rare bruce tune until released on the Tracks box set that came out a few years ago.
I own a 1968 Mercury Montego. Ironically, as I was wondering if I should upgrade my engine from the stock 302 Windsor that's still in her to a 302 Boss, and my media player was on random, this song came on. I think its a sign.
@ROUSH054 No, Bruce wrote this and recorded it before McDaniel. I'm not sure whether or not McDaniel released it first, since it was one of Bruce's outtakes, but it's a Springsteen song.
What can I say. this is awsome :) There is only one man who know music just as good as bruce and that was Elvis.. haha must say that this was a good stageshow :D
"Stand On It" was a B-Side to something from Born In The U.S.A. - I was 15 or so when I heard this, and loved this song better than the hit song Yeah - I was 16 when Bruce did his shows at the Meadowlands in the summer of '85 - It was like my 3 concert ever at the time, and it still ranks as one of best concerts I've ever seen. Thanks alot for posting
Bruce is just phenomenal. I'll bet he was at least 2 hours into the show when he sang this and his exuberance and dedication have not diminshed at all. It sounds like it could have been written by Jerry Lee.
Uauhhhh! I loved the Seeger show, beautiful, good songs and proves that he is still fit. But this is so POWERFUL!!! A rock machine!!!! Thank you for sharing the video and thanks Bruce for all your music
I saw 30 seconds of this performance in a Springsteen documentary once, and ever since I've been wanting to see the whole song. Thank you for posting!
One of my greatest dreams in rock music: to see the Boss live!

It was the "B" side single of Glory Days back in 1984. Mel McDaniel released in 1986, so Springsteen had it first.
