  • One of my greatest dreams in rock music: to see the Boss live!

  • error

  • I'd just like to say one thing... I WAS THERE!!! :)

  • No one like him, probably never will be. He's simply the best...period.

  • @aerosmithgirl97 It's a COUNTRY song!!

  • Great version

  • It was the "B" side single of Glory Days back in 1984. Mel McDaniel released in 1986, so Springsteen had it first.

  • Now i see why Bruce never felt the need to do drugs...... Good song, awesome performance!

he wouldn't have gotten out of italy man that's for sure

with out queen isabella stadning on the shore

shouting stand on it, go ahead and stand on it!

  • My husband and I were 38 when Springsteen sang at the LA coliseum in '85. We were at this concert and had so much fun that we returned for another ON A WORK NIGHT, driving 95 miles, and bringing our 7 year old son who stood on the seat and yelled "Bruce, Bruce!!" Great memories, great music!

  • Bruce originally wrote this song, McDaniel covered it.

  • this song was written around 1983 and recorded during the born in the usa studio sessions, but didnt make the cut to that album. It was released as a B side to a single off the born in the usa album. It remained a rare bruce tune until released on the Tracks box set that came out a few years ago.

  • I think bruce did this song first, but I like mel's version better.

  • @antobball true he's amazing. i saw him 4 the first time wen i wuz 9 . i saw him agen wen i wuz 10 and agen wen i was 11 and agen wen i wuz 12

  • whatta video .. whatta guy.. whatta band ! absolutely speechless when i saw him live ! im only 14 ! hahaha

  • I think mel mcdaniel does this song better.

  • wow, if u anybody watching this, u gotta go see him, 100 bucks for a ticket, and u get your moneys worth, and he is 60 years old ! WTF

  • Awesome he should do more like this.

  • simply the best, better than all the rest

  • I own a 1968 Mercury Montego. Ironically, as I was wondering if I should upgrade my engine from the stock 302 Windsor that's still in her to a 302 Boss, and my media player was on random, this song came on. I think its a sign.

  • simply the BOOOOOOOOSS!!

  • Sweet!!

  • It's a damn shame he doesn't do more stuff that.

  • Bruce got RickRolled!

  • saw bruce play this song yesterday in amsterdam! he's so rock & roll!

  • Bruce wrote this!!!

  • Who sang this song originally?

  • Mel Mcdaniel

  • Funniest thing I've heard in a while. In a strange parallel universe it might be true! :-)

  • @ROUSH054 No, Bruce wrote this and recorded it before McDaniel. I'm not sure whether or not McDaniel released it first, since it was one of Bruce's outtakes, but it's a Springsteen song.

  • @ROUSH054 no he covered it bruce did it originally

  • Broooce!

  • @Righty736 It was written by the Boss but the late Mel McDaniel recorded it and took it to #12.

  • The Boss is Brilliant! I was the one holding the banner with the request when he played this one in Arnhem in 1999. Biggest moment of my life!!!

  • Don't ya just love him?? He is just too much fun!!

  • seen him doing this song in arnhem (NL) on june 19th '99, brilliant!!!

  • gotta love it! Bruuuuuuuuuce!!!! I get tired just watching him work so hard! :D

  • awesome.pure bruce

  • What can I say. this is awsome :) There is only one man who know music just as good as bruce and that was Elvis.. haha must say that this was a good stageshow :D

  • That's why he's DE BOSS MAN! Amazing, true showmanship at its best!

  • he he, got that right. I get tired from just stand there and watch, while hes bouncing up and down! STAND ON IT

  • 2 hours into the show... lets say close to 4..

  • You are right Arnet, it probably was closer to 4. Nobody gets cheated at a Bruce show.

  • "Stand On It" was a B-Side to something from Born In The U.S.A. - I was 15 or so when I heard this, and loved this song better than the hit song Yeah - I was 16 when Bruce did his shows at the Meadowlands in the summer of '85 - It was like my 3 concert ever at the time, and it still ranks as one of best concerts I've ever seen. Thanks alot for posting

  • Bruce is just phenomenal. I'll bet he was at least 2 hours into the show when he sang this and his exuberance and dedication have not diminshed at all. It sounds like it could have been written by Jerry Lee.

  • Uauhhhh! I loved the Seeger show, beautiful, good songs and proves that he is still fit. But this is so POWERFUL!!! A rock machine!!!! Thank you for sharing the video and thanks Bruce for all your music

  • Great video!!

  • This is great

  • I saw 30 seconds of this performance in a Springsteen documentary once, and ever since I've been wanting to see the whole song. Thank you for posting!

  • tremeeeeeeennnnndooooooooooo
