I know this video is old, but i have a knock on my 90 240sx stick sohc. when i take of the oil cap the noise gets quiter, how did you find out it was the flywheel? My car runs great so i dont think its gonna be the flywheel, im thinking the valve train.

@Ax3Zent well i went around a turn with the clutch in and then something moved around and my "trans" locked up. couldnt get it into any gear and when i tried revving it, the rpms would seem to slowwwly rise abnormally.

lmfao this happened to me while i was at a track day.... thought it was my tranny that blew or clutch. Glad you found out the problem cause i just found this out today as well when i dropped the tranny.

OK smart guy. This is a video to show the issue at hand so I am going to do what I have to to show what it is. The mph going up is a different issue not stated and I know what it is. And 3rd I state in literally the 1st second of the video that it is a cold start, every car idles higher at cold start, not sure if you own a car at your age but maybe if you were old enough to drive your own, you would know that.

@TerryH2323 True. I've never driven on snow, but I've been able to hold my car's slide more than once, even though it's a FWD with no ABS. Slides were mostly due to dust, water or hard braking, but holding them was fairly easy with barely a 1000km of driving experience under my belt.

@TerryH2323 Hehe....I've never slid the car intentionally. With the kind of idiotic road users on the loose in North India, you end up with a choice of a lock up or crash more than once. One guy just stood petrified in my lane on an expressway. Lots of traffic, could not change lanes. I was at 80kph when I saw him, and had to slam the brakes with all strength to stop the car. It barely did, on a dusty road. The tail was stepping out and had to countersteer to keep it straight. Shit scary!!

@240sxGuy3 First of all your a dumb ass if you clutch pedal is in or disengaged you will not burn your clutch. Second its a cold start if you ever been in a car when if first starts the idle will be higher. How about you talk shit when you can drive

@1274521 Well im making that my street/drift/track car so i got a ebay exhaust and test pipe, cause i dont want to tear up and scrape an expensive name brand exhaust! And intake... they are all the same, as long as the intake pipe is a constant radius for smoother air flow! All you need to do to an ebay intake is put a "name brand" cone filter on the end of it, and its just as good as a $300 name brand one! I currently have an Apexi power intake cone filter on the end of my intake!

@240sxGuy3 I dont know if you know that... but the power intake cone filter from Apex-i, is the best air filter on the market (currently)! So now my intake is just the same as a expensive one. But ya im not going for cheap, but as being 17 with currently no job, im on a budget. But ill always have ebay exhausts though, they sound the same and look the same, and give you same power as a name brand. But yet the are disposable when i tear them up, cause they are cheap! Ya know?

ok i bought a 1990 240sx and when i got it it sounded just like this and it was a throw out bearing but it hit my pressure plate and fucked my whole transmission and i dont know if it was any correlation but the compression was low in all four cylinders also when i got it checked ater it stopped. Get it checked ASAP

motors toast. sounds like a spun rod bearing. i'd just junk it and do a de swap or maybe an sr swap.
