  • Hi.. thanks from Denmark...

I found my old Maglite 6 D Cell from the shed and it did not work properly only every other time and I was about to throw it out but then I found your video and disassemble it. Now it works like new it is probably 10 years old.

    Thank you again.

    (i uset google translate)

  • You can't go wrong with a Maglite 3-D. I have one that is over 20 years old. There are a few differences with it: The switch has a more robust click to it, there is more knurling on the tube and the thickness of the aluminium is a little beefier =)

  • Thank you for the video. This was extremely helpful in repairing my Mag's switch.

  • It was under water for like a week went back and actually found it ! There was minimal water in it when I found it if u don't take the button out often it dosent stretch and STAYS WATERPROOF

  • Haha the upgrades in the US are like $15 I have a led maglite 2d it came led was $30 I think it's not true that maglites are not water proof I dropped mine without knowing it

  • thanks nick u're a realist i did exactly as u show me take down my switch i clean it up reinstall and it working now thanks alot man ur good

  • Maglite is heavily overrated, bought my d-cell 2 years ago, its already failing, thrown that piece of garbage in the wastebin.

  • Hi there, thanks so much for this demonstration. My maglite had batteries in it that leaked and they caused a right mess inside. I needed to take it apart to clean it all up and without this video it could of been a real dilemma. I have cleaned it up and reassembled it, it is now as good as new. Thank you.

  • thank you so much for this post ,i brought a friend of mine a mag 2 cell and the switch has stopped working , we we wondering how to fit the problem , can i order just the switch from mag light ? and you said in your vid that the torch was $74 ,here at wall mart the led 2 cell around $30 us

  • @MrFirewoodman

Hi and im glad my videos helped. As i am in Australia M@gLites cost substantially more over here and i purchased mine in back in 2005 before the L.E.D variant was released.

As for ordering a new switch i am pritty sure you can order direct from maglite so i would call 800 289-6241 during business hours and order one, but as im in australia i am not sure about any other way of getting your hands on parts. best regards.

  • @MrFirewoodman 30 bucks?! I got my 4D at wallmart for 17 ;)

thougt the 2D was $14 or something..

    I'm at CA btw..

  • @MrFirewoodman

    reading is still hard LOL

    I didn't mean the LED version ;)

  • TILZ4U. Thank you for your comment. In answer to your question the only thing required to convert a standard D-Cell into a L.E.D is the l.e.d modual available from M@glite other than that they are identical. I recomend the genuine m@glite bulb as it is 3watt. NiteIze make a bulb but it is only 1watt so it's not as good, although the genuine m@glite one is more expensive costing about $60Au. Thanks

  • Very helpful! Thank you. I'd never taken a Maglite apart before. Had to clean off some corrosion from the metal contacts. Both parts of your vid came in handy. :-)

  • No worries, just put those vids on to help anyone out there needing to take down there maglite as i have had to!!! tc

  • all thats parts plastic injection and cnc machining and you can buy a maglite for 19.99 at walmart lol

  • maglte has never marked that the c or d cell flashlight is waterproof. Only that they where water resistant. and they are very water resisting. I know that from experience with my own 4D-cell. nice video, but only 4/5 because of that error.

  • What size allen key were you using? Mine somehow doesn't come out at all.

  • Hi and thanks for the comment. the allen key size is a 2mm or a 5/64. 2mm is a better fit but either one works. cheers!

  • Hi can u change maglite 2D into LED 2D

in the same torch. if yes then what to do and how much i have to pay?

    tc
