And for god sake dude. Just because it's green and has ladders doesn't mean it's north shore. Everybody sees jump, ladder bridges, green plants and moss on the trees and they instantly assume it's north shore. Yes this style of riding and building originated there but there are other parts of the world that look like that and many people building this type of stuff.

I'm thinking of starting mountain biking cuz dirt biking is starting to become a hassle to go out and its pricey! I was wondering if those bikes have full suspension or not. $300 isn't much I'm sorry to say, but you can still get a fine beginners bike (hard tail only) for around $300...If I were you I'd look at the various bike manufacturer websites out there and decide what bike turns you on...honestly, it's all about how you feel when you're on it. Maybe check out Specialized, Gary Fisher, Trek...just for starters...or just stop by your local bike store...not Target/WalMart/SportsAuthority or any other big store...support local and they'll take care of you.
