BSS' second album, You Forgot it in People, changed so much in the Canadian indie scene and is arguably one of the best Canadian albums ever. BSS (along with Arcade Fire) pretty much defined the beginning of the golden age in Canadian indie music.

I would never associate MGMT with BSS. BSS is in a league of its own right now.

They do sound a little bit like MGMT, who actually are much bigger than broken social scene. Broken social scene are good, but to say that MGMT are only just finding their footing in comparison is ridiculous, considering they are already a very big band.

@Odin7711 well, MGMT have made it big, but musically, they havent composed songs with anywhere near the diversity that BSS has. Also, Broken Social Scene have been releasing records for nearly 7 years longer, and their founding members have a lot more experience and as a result, in my opinion have made more mature and interesting music. I like MGMT, but Rightm0nster is correct, MGMT have only begun their journey.
