For me, buckethead got me back into guitar playing in the last 10 years..And believe me i used to play the strip(LA) quite often back 80's early 90's..Unless your into jazz or bebop which is so killer musically..But literally bucket made me pick it up on a almost daily basis again. His peaceful atmospheric stuff is what i like mostly. And i listened to all those yngwie malmsteen dudes in 80's..Bucket is straight experimental.

The beauty of it, though, is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what's good and what's not good. So just because I don't think Neil Young (for example) is that great (and he can't sing for crap either), doesn't mean everyone thinks the same.

The Blues has been around a lot longer than "Vai 'n' co. lol", so it's hard for the "inventors" to say exactally the same things since they're pushing up daisies.

Sorry man, but Cobain was not overrated. Just cause a person doesn't shred or play complex chords doesn't mean they're not good musicians. Have you ever tried to write a good catchy melody? It's really hard. Nirvana has so many beautiful melodies that almost no other musicians can come close to matching. Another example is Beethoven's Fur Elise, is it hard to play? Not at all, but it's all about melody and feel. Not to mention it was just as much Cobain's lyrics/poetry that made Nirvana famous.

How is that poetry? Cobain's ramblings were an incoherent mess put to simplistic power chords repeated ad nauseum throughout the song. For me, that's not beautiful, it's boring. One of the most overrated bands in the history of music.
Actually, it's: "She's over bored and self assured, oh know I know a dirty word". It's a clever use of verbiage that Cobain uses to depict the symptoms of suicide, anyone with a soul can see that is a pretty deep line. Previous verses depict the general feeling of boredom and emptiness teens at that time felt. Nirvana was successful because they broke the cycle of the same old shitty music topping the charts, and provided a great alternative to people thirsting for something different.
They broke the cycle of the same old shitty music, and instead gave us *different* shitty music. I'm sorry, but there's just no way I'm going to see eye to eye with any Nirvana fans. In my opinion, it was garbage. Then again, people say similar about my favourite group (Rush). Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one (and they usually stink). =)
Smells Like Teen Spirit is actually not even one of Nirvana's best songs (lyrically/musically), it's just one of the songs that record companies knew would be a hit with a mainstream audience which is why they shoved it down everyone's throats. Listen to their actual album's, I hate when someone hears a few songs on the radio and act like they know a band well. It didn't say "poet" on Cobain's death certificate for no reason.

uhh bucketheads anatomic advavntages are apparent in his playing. he uses his fingers to make stretches that believe me, you or i cant make at speed if at all. in addition, he plays a guitar with a MUCH longer neck than most people use. he's taller than les claypool by a good deal. with the bucket on his head he's probably close to six eight but hes only about six six or six seven

The beauty of it, though, is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what's good and what's not good. So just because I don't think Neil Young (for example) is that great (and he can't sing for crap either), doesn't mean everyone thinks the same.
On the other hand, when folks go on and on about the technical merits of a musician, and gloss over or fail to mention the truly *technically* talented guys, that annoys me.

I just started listening to this guy very recently...and believe me he's a million times better than the overhyped monkeys like satriani and vai...man the emotions and the feel that comes out of that machine is fucking mindblowing...

Satriani and Vai are hardly overhyped monkeys, and that's just plain old ignorant to say so. You want overhyped, cast an eye towards the likes of Neil Young, Slash, Cobain, and basically anyone who's picked up a guitar in the last 10 or so years, learned a few power chords and churned out album after album of shitty pop-rock.

The Blues has been around a lot longer than "Vai 'n' co. lol", so it's hard for the "inventors" to say exactally the same things since they're pushing up daisies.
Who are you to say what music connects with everyone's emotions? There's songs by Satch and Vai that connect with me (and others, they have more fans than just me).
Blanket negative statements about others just because you've got wood for one guitarist makes you look ignorant.

ugh i hate it just as bad when i want to see drummer clips, i don't think i have seen one vid clip where it says "this guy sucks, joey jordison rules."
I think everyone is entitled to thier own opinons, and i'm getting real tired over people talking about who's better than who, everyone has thier own unique style, so fuck off

Sorry man, but Cobain was not overrated. Just cause a person doesn't shred or play complex chords doesn't mean they're not good musicians. Have you ever tried to write a good catchy melody? It's really hard. Nirvana has so many beautiful melodies that almost no other musicians can come close to matching. Another example is Beethoven's Fur Elise, is it hard to play? Not at all, but it's all about melody and feel. Not to mention it was just as much Cobain's lyrics/poetry that made Nirvana famous.

How is that poetry? Cobain's ramblings were an incoherent mess put to simplistic power chords repeated ad nauseum throughout the song. For me, that's not beautiful, it's boring. One of the most overrated bands in the history of music.

Actually, it's: "She's over bored and self assured, oh know I know a dirty word". It's a clever use of verbiage that Cobain uses to depict the symptoms of suicide, anyone with a soul can see that is a pretty deep line. Previous verses depict the general feeling of boredom and emptiness teens at that time felt. Nirvana was successful because they broke the cycle of the same old shitty music topping the charts, and provided a great alternative to people thirsting for something different.

In my opinion, it was garbage. Then again, people say similar about my favourite group (Rush). Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one (and they usually stink). =)

Smells Like Teen Spirit is actually not even one of Nirvana's best songs (lyrically/musically), it's just one of the songs that record companies knew would be a hit with a mainstream audience which is why they shoved it down everyone's throats. Listen to their actual album's, I hate when someone hears a few songs on the radio and act like they know a band well. It didn't say "poet" on Cobain's death certificate for no reason.

its his mind that makes him such a unique musician not his long finger having long fingers can help help with big stretches but anyone can do the stretches buckethead does with a bit of practice. i have huge fingers but i still found some of the welcome to bucketheadland stretched hard

uhh bucketheads anatomic advavntages are apparent in his playing. he uses his fingers to make stretches that believe me, you or i cant make at speed if at all. in addition, he plays a guitar with a MUCH longer neck than most people use. he's taller than les claypool by a good deal. with the bucket on his head he's probably close to six eight but hes only about six six or six seven

he was born with a family and he was a regular boy and one day he took up guitar and he got serious in to it and then one night after watching micheal miers he went out and bought a white look alike mask and that night they had kfc he quickly had an idea ran to the bathroom put the bucket on his head and whispered "Buckethead....Thats me!"
