What's the deal with the blonde ends? Did you used to bleach your hair and just never bothered to dye them? Or did you color them afterwards?

@einarknutsen you should start off with no less than 4 inches of hair, as it will lock up after backcombing to about half that size. And when you do it with that little length, they look like ratty fuzzballs rather than locks, and tend to come out in the shower. Let your hair grow out a wee bit more before starting.

But iirc on what I've read, you can indeed undo them. But it's rather laborious and your hair will likely be in rather bad shape. But I would bet one could do a few hair treatments to help some.

just curious, i am currently contemplating dreads. i let my hair grow for 2 years and had braids the whole time so i plan on doing that until they are long enough for dreads. but i was curious with is, do the dreads pull your scalp. if you have had braids before you know what i'm talking about. where you have to slap your head because it itches. or is it more laid back and looser than braids.

did you ever have a problem with your dreadies sticking up or out? i dont know if my roots were too tight, but if i had them pulled back then took the headband off and like leaned forward they would all just stick straight up like a cockatiel. haha mine were as thick as yours if not a little thinner, length was maybe like 8 inches and never used wax. did you ever have this problem if so do they eventually just fall and swing on their own with more length/weight or more/less thickness?

some places charge fucken 100s of dollars to get your hair locked and if you want salons to retwist your dreads they can cost up to 60 per visit and thats cheap theirs no way locks can be dirty and be in that price range its actually cutting your hair short so you dont have to spend any money is the cheap way used today because back in the day people werent able to afford to keep long hair maintained if you see long hair that looks like that they cant be dirty or the hair wouldnt lock right
