What people don't get is these videos aren't arbitrary- Lion King was the big Broadway musical that year and so the mayor did a lion king spoof. Another year the big musical was Beauty and the Beast- so Rudy came on as the beast. The 'Drag' photographs are from the year that 'Victor/Victoria' was the big musical- so of course Rudy had to follow tradition and it showed some guts. He was onstage with Julie Andrews (wearing a tux)- what's more family friendly than Mary Poppins?

When I want a history lesson, I'll ask for it. I'm well aware that we supplied Afghan fighters with weapons to fight the Soviets and aided Saddam Hussein so Iraq could defeat Iran. That's pretty common knowledge. Unfortunately, we live in an imperfect world and as a result, we have to make imperfect alliances in order to achieve victory. The best example was fighting alongside Josef Stalin in WWII. Was he evil? Absolutely. However, Hitler was a much bigger threat to the world than Stalin.
