This has got to be my favourite song by Bette Midler. More so than the other more often heard ones. Yes I really would love to watch her sing this live sometime.
I wish she would re-record this. With her world-view enhanced to the point it is now, along with the fact that she herself is a Mother with a grown daughter....an updated treatment would really sound beautiful., and in a way, it would bring it full circle. one of my favorites.
I saw Bette many times as well, including where this was taped...who knows could be the night I was there!!! :-) I was also fortunate enough to meet her @ Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY on OCT 9, 1993! I LOVE HER! <3
@grai ~ You should regret it, it was spectacular, and I've seen the Divine One in concert many times. This would have been in August of 1983, at the West Side Tennis Stadium in Forest Hills. It was the "Art or Bust" tour.
absolutely gorgeous and most beautiful song from Bette Midler
definitely her best. never tired of listening.

Never take your mom for granted. All those kisses and hugs, saver them, someday you wont have them....that's when you'll want them most.

Always understood that her mom died from Cancer. Bette has done more for cancer research than so many. Just knowing that and hearing this...

@soulfire65 my favorite, as well. it's her most obscure, unappreciated, and beautiful songs.
