  • +1 on the noise from velcro.

  • I got mine for 2 main reasons: 1) its high versatility as a survival/combat platform and 2) the built-in hydro pouch. As general survival need #2, I want to have water if I lose my pack. Other basics will fit in my pockets or in a pouch attached to the rig. And yep, field exercises taught me (thankfully long before combat) to lanyard everything with 550 cord to my body!

  • Yes, I agree velcro isn't tactical in anyway shape or form. The military uniforms now have velcro type fasteners which after being washed a few times is no longer operational. Not to mention it in no way is quiet at all, makes for a great sniper check mechanism though I guess.

    Great video.

  • ohhh i like that..........

  • Hey man Good video. On the vest how would pistol mags fit in to it. Are the pouches to big?

  • @APatrioticRebel The pouches are probably too deep for pistol mags. A 30 round AR15 Mag seats all the way down into it with just about a half inch exposed. But, there are MOLLE and PALS pistol mag pouches that could easily be mounted to the rig to accomodate your needs. If you want just a MOLLE style vest with pistol gear, there is a MOLLE "carrier" rig that is just the vest and you can mount any gear you want on it. You might look into that.
