I love this song. Like most of the B's music it's very underrated. The first time I saw the B'52's in person was in Atlanta at the Fox around '90 or '91. Fantastic, unforgettable.

Thanks to Keith the B`s still exist, had he not written the music for Cosmic Thing, the B52s as a band would probably have died along with Ricky. He has written pretty much all subsequent music , while Fred, Kate and Cindy write the vocal melodies and lyrics. And yes, Kate and Cindy are still babes !!

For any of you lucky enough to see the 52s live, in their heyday, around 1980, you know just how amazing they were: whacky 50s sci-fi paroding, stunning chick harmonies, tight playing, great guitar work juxtapositioned perfectly against amazing bass/drum rhythm and synth riffs. So original, so creative, so much energy, truly part of rock 'n roll history. Watching them play "Planet Claire" live was absolutely insane - biggest New Wave dance party I've ever seen.

HOWEVER, it's only been posted here on "V" for a couple months; before this time it had been uploaded by various YouTubers and had sort of remained "underground." Recently, I tried to watch it (not this channel) but was unable to 'cause "they" (above) removed the other videos and assumed control, transferring all "views" & "comments" from all other vids here to this channel.

The green-screen thing is called chroma-key. It was easy to spot it in the old days, but now digital processing make it look like the reaql thing. The B´s abused the use of chroma screens back then and it was a fun abuse.

@ricardopaoletti I'm really interested in the whole "green screen" stuff and have even had people explain it to me but I still don't understand the concept or how it works. I've noticed that most modern music videos have a "clear" and "sharp" appearance to them...they're pretty much HD. However, this one has a sort of "fuzzy" and "soft" glow-like appearance to it and looks almost like the way you "see" your dreams when asleep. Am I onto something or is it just the video's psychedelic-ness? Tanks

You can apparaently listen to all of FUNPLEX on their site. Keith Srickland's guitar riffs are what make what I've heard so far sound so VERY solid, right up there with their best. For those of you who don't know, Keith was originally the drummer, and he learned the guitar when the original guitarist, who was Cindy's brother, died of AIDS in the 1980s. He wanted to be sure to get the sound right, and I think he keeps getting better at it.
