The Foursome (Del Porter, Dwight Snyder, Marshall Smith, and Ray Johnson) were together for about a decade from 1928. They're best known for featuring in hit Broadway shows - "Girl Crazy" in 1930 and "Anything Goes" in '34-'35, as well as the 1936 film "Born to Dance."
In 1932 they featured with Roger Wolfe Kahn's Orchestra as "The Kahn-a-sirs" (as a trio, minus Snyder). In the early '40s, Del Porter was the first featured singer with Spike Jones' City Slickers.
