There is a science fiction, written by a Chinese writer, I've read before. Saying that the Sun is going to becomes a red giant suddenly within 400 years, instead of 5 billion years. All scientists on the earth work crazily thinking solutions to save human beings. In the end, they come up with a solution: that is to build big propellers on the earth which can drive the earth planet away from solar system, all the way to Proxima Centauri.
