As someone who doesn't really listen to drone and has pretty much no experience with the genre, I've found that this album has been the most enjoyable for me. Maybe because it's all entry level and I'm not the biggest fan of BWOOOOOOOOOOOM and that kinda non-stop "desolate" feeling with stuff like Sunn O))) and Earth's other stuff.
Anthony Fantano was right though, the Cello (while being nice) does kinda muddy of the production.
@facusrock FilesTube, it's a search engine for all the major(and not so major) file sharing sites, just search the artist and album name and click on a link that shows up, usually I try to go for Mediafire links, because they work a lot faster and you don't need to put in a captcha or wait a certain amount of time. :p
Also you need Winrar to open up the .rar file(99% albums I get are .rar) search Google to download that.
drove home from a gig the other night bout 2am on the motorway no other cars drove at 90mph listening to this.....drove straight along the middle of the road with the dotted line going under me......felt like i was moving in slow motion
I listened to the other track from this before and thought i might get stoned before i listening to this, but then it started and theres no need. love this band.
Why is Sony claiming the copyright on Earth songs, in particular songs from the Bees Made Honey... album? That was released on Southern Lord, not a Sony label, ffs. They are out of control. Could someone replace those uploads or somehow dispute them being taken down? Down with the out of control RIAA!
It's because Southern Lord is owned by RED Music, which in turn is owned by Sony. Therefore Sony owns Southern Lord and all copyrights associated with Southern Lord. This shouldn't be surprising, its what usually happens when a record label gets large enough, it gets bought out
@neosovietgod, I believe RED is only the distributor. Why wouldn't Southern Lord or the band itself retain the copyright? I checked Southern Lord at the RIAA Radar website (which was actually working for once), but it gave me an "unknown" result for the label. Drat.
Yes, RED is the distributor, which means that most likely Sony owns the label as well (since they tend to distribute their own labels music, this is probably why the result was unknown). Also, while the band retains the copyright (unless they have a bad deal of some sort) the record label retains the rights to the masters, meaning the actual recordings put on the album. This is why they have the ability to pursue people for sharing it illegally.
Thanks to the free download, I'm buying the lp, and so are about seven friends who I showed this to. Underground cats know it..... Paul Schutze is a great example.
@mineralturbo Sve je sprđevna. Jebem mu krvava sunašca! samo biti role zadrti imast da curi niz bradu, samo ga drkati pred rodbinom! samo zadrto, bestijalno i maloumno!
This sounds absolutely wonderful. I'm going to buy the vinyl because I care about supporting smaller acts. And by the way, I really think that this supports the band. I actually picked them up from a on old videogame-forum when the bees made honey in the lions skull was released. Now I'm hoping for a gig in Stockholm!
Hands up whos going to see Earth on their upcoming April tour. Yes I am gonna go to see them in Dublin and Cork. I have not bough their albums but advertise their Irish gigs on a website to promo them. Why? Because I love this type of music, why dont I buy their albums at the moment, Because I aint got no job due to a shitty jobs market. So I get on the tubes, have a rummage around and chill to the sounds of Earth on good and bad days. Be happy Earth is on the tubes! :)
Will do man - Tune into a new show called FUZZED OUT on Ireland's Rascal Radio online for some Stoner, Psychedelic, Doom, Drone and Fuzzed out grooves.. Tuesdays from 6pm - 8pm.
Check out me other channel Desert Rock Ireland on the tubes..
How can anyone complain when a song like this is playing? This is the most beautiful song I've heard in a long time, the whole album is like being in an opiate trance. You come to expect the very best from a band like Earth.
@naterd00d I didnt know about this band until I saw this video on youtube, so like they say its beneficial for the band to have this one here, what is your problem?
funny thing. the way it's repetitive is what makes it great to me.

@lowlander333 Yeah, this band is named Earth as sort of a tribute to Black Sabbath, the first doom metal band (as well as heavy metal, of course)
