LEAP is the answer! You can count on Brasil for such a change, my friends! Here it's utterly urgent, extremely necessary that marijuana at least be legalized too. i been trying to find out on google but i'm having no luck. if some one could answer i'd be grateful. Were drugs also legal in the UK around the same time they were in America? we have serious serious drug related issues. soo many gangs and soo many dealers. resulting in a crazy amount of shootings, kidnappings, overdoses and all the other 'wonderful' results of drug prohibition.
I have never seen such a cornucopia of disconnected comments in my life.
Stick to the topic. The "War" on drugs is a failure, just like prohibition was.
Wake up. If you or you're kid, or a friend was arrested and thrown into prison for holding a joint, you would be thinking.."wait a minute, this should be a personal choice, just like having a Scotch." We made progress with smoking, drunk driving and other things through education...we can do the same with drugs. Decriminalize it.
DEA head Michele Leonhart on the deaths of 1000 children in Mexico at the hands of the drug cartels: "It may seem contradictory, but the unfortunate level of violence is a sign of success in the fight against drugs.” -- so if 1000 dead children is a success, what, in her Orwellian world, qualifies as a failure?
Prohibition was put in place by Rockefeller to stamp out alcohol production "for any use" as in "fuel". Look it up. Rockefeller wanted zero competition with standard oil. The Ford model A actually ran on alcohol or gas. Rockefeller wanted to remove even the memory of people making their own fuel (alcohol) from history...which...you guessed it....was also done. I agree with Ron Paul on a handful of issues but things like 0% income tax is crazy. This isn't 1900. We agree on a lot of the problems but disagree on some of the solutions.
i love the idea of police against prohibition,i grow weed&i dont break any other laws,im a good neighbor, father& citizen,i smoke weed&grow 2 plants for personal, yet im a criminal?hopefully the govt of the world will start to listen to these professionals!
@Bdiddly1 I know. I smoke weed to numb out the pain of childhood sexual abuse. It helps when I'm having flashbacks. But I obey every other law, and I would never hurt anyone else. I hold down a job, I pay my bills, I pay my taxes.
@LanceHertford -yes mate you smoke to numb out pain for a really bad thing,so i bet the govt answer would be for you to go to a doctor&be prescribed valium, anti depressants&sleeping tablets(mogodon, temazepam etc),whereas you do something for your self&you are now a criminal.
the world is not right when it comes to the laws on cannabis, who exactly or what company is stopping it becoming legal?it really pisses me off that you cant grow it legally.
@Bdiddly1 The worst thing is, people like me were sexually abused (I was actually raped when I was a toddler), we find something that provides a little respite from the flashbacks (which, by the way, are like a drug trip, themselves), we aren't hurting anyone, and so the government throws us in prison to become a sex slave for hardened criminals, and to submit to rape just to survive. Do you think we come out of that "reformed"? Better? No, you come out of it even more suicidal and crazy.
@LanceHertford -man you have my sympathies for your past&that pisses me off too,the fact you have something that can calm those episodes&yet it's still illegal, wtf?a long time ago i was attacked&had to fight to defend myself,i ended up stabbing a guy who had attempted to break into my flat&had attacked my wife too,he died a couple of times on the op table&after that i got flashbacks&nightmares for a cple of yrs,i do sympathize with your situation mate.my mum was also attacked when i was a boy!
@LanceHertford -&she was given diazepam to calm her nerves, she has now been on em for 35 years&she is a bag of nerves, thing is if she takes a smoke she calms down too,so thats another reason i dont trust doctors either, they KNOW cannabis is a miracle drug&know all the lies about thc being evil&causing depression/schizo episodes but they also know about the cbn/cbd &realise that thc on its own is a downer but mix it with cbn/cbd your on to a winning medicine!
@LanceHertford - 1 of my mates just done a year in a prison in tunisia for having 1 gram of hash on him,he was the only westerner in a jail called morniguia,he was very lucky he isnt dead, this was just last year he was released&he was in during the wars in afghanistan etc,we are scottish&he managed to persuade the inmates he was a scots irishman NOT english/british,anyway prison for posession of drugs is fucked up in itself but imagine a year for a gram.
"And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth..." Genesis 1:30 for all the Bible-thumpers. Look people prohibition was attempted and look where that got us. We, the people of the United States, should be able to smoke weed (which has medicinal properties) over tobacco (cancer on a stick, anyone?). Welcome to my well-justified soapbox, conformist brainwashed idiots.
I'm a drug addict in recovery and at first I was against this idea but after watching the video I think they have a valid point. The war on drugs is a known failure especially to drug addicts. It would be better to control the sales of drugs and take away some of the violence and crime that is caused by the prohibition of drugs. And maybe I would add that more research needs to be done on how to curb drug addiction or hopefully even cure drug addiction.
so he bought two ounces of weed went to town hall and started smoke bowls in front of the court house! needless to say he was arrested. in jail he recovered from his cancer and is alive today for breaking the law and receiving free health care!
a friend of mine had chest pains and went to the ER. they determined that he had cancer but because he didn't have health insurance he couldn't get any treatment!
brilliant absolutely brilliant! I am always so amazed by how little we have evolved as a society and in most cases gone backwards in terms of progress. Im glad that some people are starting to actually use their own brains to understand reality. In the united states if you don't have health care and need medical treatment but can't afford it! just get arrested for having some flowers in your back pocket whalla instant free health care!
@LoveShock2 I thought the church banned marijuana because paper was made from it. People need paper to write books, bibles, and other text that the church didn't want people to have direct access too. I believe possession of paper was illegal without permission at some point.
So in a sense, you're right, it did open people's mind, without even needing its psychoactive effects.
Here's a thought... NO GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT IN MARIJUANA... PERIOD!!! Let them stick their greedy noses in drugs that can actually kill you like tobacco, coke, heroine meth etc...
California residents, you have the chance to be the first group of people in the world to legalize marijuana for responsible adult use. When you go to vote on prop 19, take a friend with you. Drag one other person with you. If everyone does this we get double the votes!
Then, find someone who is against pot legalization and convince them to stay home that day. Tell them something great is on the TV that day, buy them tickets to a show, anything guys
Law enforcement makes hundreds of thousands of dollars for their departments by fighting the "war on drugs" It is UN winable. Prohibition does not work. Wake the hell up America. You narrow minded so called "Christian" do gooders have been brain washed into thinking marijuana was planted by Satan!
12:13 tells you just about all you need to know to understand what is happening here. Though this ENTIRE video is very good. I support and encourage this work.
Another summary of the argument for legalization, with lots of links and charts to back it up - if you are going to talk up legalization in the lead-up to proposition 19, this could help:
The only reason marijuana is still illegal is because of how much money the government would lose. Unlike tobacco, it can be grown anywhere, with great potency if done well.
Why make something legal if they aren't going to get their cut? There is no other logical reason for it to still be illegal.
Most other drugs, I could care less about. Except for meth and crack, they are two of the most vile substances on the planet.
you can grow tobacco inside anywhere. and there gonna get alot more of a cut. lets look at it like this. say they charge a tax on growing it at 50.00/plant. odds are with it being legal your gonna grow indoors in a wonderful setup, and your gonna get 1 lb plus wet uncured bud and even more in leaves. now drying that pound and curing that pound your standing to lose about 10 grams an oz. when you dry that out your gonna be left with just under 5/8ths of a lb= at least 2500 - hash from
@overworksmom Obama is in the pocket of wall street and big pharma and has absolutely no say, both of who would loose out big time if the private prisons and companies like pFizer collapsed as the result of legalizing drugs, namely marijuana. No president will be any different until the lobbyists and corporations are kicked out of the white house. Look up "the union" or "the obama deception" on youtube if you're interested in finding out more.
I love how that cop in the vid explains how we have basically given the drug dealers the rights to choose when and where they are going to sell drugs. He's exactly right. Prohibition is just complete non-sense. Did prohibition stop alcohol from being sold back in the 20s and 30s? No, it just created organized crime. Whats happening today? Organized crime in Mexico and all over the world to sell drugs. Come on people, wake up. It didn't work back then and it doesn't work now.
I work at my local Sheriff's Office as a marine deputy aide and I completely agree... we waste so much time and hurt more people than we help with prohibition. join LEAP and spread the word!!!!!
it is good to see coppers saying such sensible things about prohibition, there are quite a few chief constables in the UK who are of the same mind,so when are those who govern us going to listen, probably when we find out who's getting paid to keep it as it is. graft, bribes etc are being paid, the drug trade create vast wealth, that our global economy would collapse without & that illicit money finds it's way into the legitimate economy & some of our law enforcement agencies & government are paid
The war on drugs is a war on the American People. Our rights and liberties have been and are being trampled. The constitution is under attack on all fronts and we the people need to stand up and show our outrage.
It needs to stop. Stop the drug war and while your at it, end the Fed and impeach Obama just for good measure.

If he were AGAINST prohibition he would have removed mj from schedule 1. Also, Joe Biden helped form the ONDCP. Obama is only pro-pot on the surface. Dig a little deeper.
@stupidplants I have. My representatives are anti-pot and you can't tell them anything. They go to the old fallbacks; gateway drug this, criminal behavior that. If prop 19 passes I'm moving to California.
As much as I respect people who are able to swap positions, and thereby having to reconcile with the fact that they have been doing wrong for years, it disgusts me how simple-minded coppers are, when they don't see the injustice in throwing people to jail for 7 years for passing a joint or bong. I guess that is just another social proof of how humans so desperately shape their minds according to conformity. Btw, drugs suck.
@kayenta33 Everything that exists within the scope of government exists because those in office desire it that way. Another issue is distraction. Just because a "law" was passed and jarheads with guns enforce it, does not make it lawful. The supreme law is the constitution. Further, the government court itself (Supreme Court) has ruled that any unconstitutional law is void ab initio. And a repeal of that law is unnecessary. Smoke your pot. It's your right. Know how to protect it. 1215.org
It is a work in progress. Some of the jack-booted thugs and fearless drug warriors fueled by Tricky Dick Nixon are still around. They are chiefs or other high level executive command. There are folks fighting the good fight as I type this right now......
@kayenta33 when the next generation of young people is running this country and all the old leaders are dead, we can legalize and toke all the ganja we want
@TheJonnynerd Right cuz the hippy generation is in power and thats what they did alright. WHile we all suffer for it osme folks make a lot of money off the war on drugs and they use the power that money buys to influence the law makers. Our generation is just as east to corrupt as the ones before it and the ones after it will be.
These guys should be front and center on the news every night--except people could see that we have been decieved and lied to by various BOGUS agencies..the biggest lie of all is that marijuana is bad--when in fact 14 states LEGALLY approved it as beneficial
to humans as medicine! It should be reclassfied---it should never be listed as a harmful narcotic and on the same list as cocaine-heroin-meth-etc. The people know the truth of this.
Common sense! - Dollars and cents! - World war, drug war, any war = Big Money & Massive Violence! - No War = Let me seeeeeee...... Maybe Peace and a more Vibrant Economy? - All the jailed (used to be taxpayers until lockup) folks can go back to work and help spend money again to fuel the debt fire that we Americans love so much ;-))
I see the benefit of taxing, but this plant can boost our entire work force also. just think about all the jobs gained. From metal and plastics sales for greenhouses and irrigation systems, and the struggling farmers who need a high value crop, then workers needed for planting, tending, and harvesting just to name a few. but if you dig deep you realize how many people will have jobs from this 1 plant and how many different fields and companies it will stimulate for the betterment of the US.
If drugs were legalized, there would be a 100% pure product without the junk in it. Much safer. The money spent on the drug war would be spent on education agianst the stuff. If it were legalized not everyone would go out and buy Herion, Cok, etc.
The legaliztion would get rid of the gangs who thrive on the sale of drugs. Wake up America. Th Drug War will never stop, and will never work. Write your elected officials and tell them this.
what i think is that the drug war is lost. The ones who'd like drugs illegal are druglords cause if they were legal druglords lose trillions of dollars
you know, people will make all these videos and all this shit, but honestly, Us polictians are stupid, took months to get the healthcare bill going, and it wont go into effect for years, fuck US polictians, everyone hates them, but does nothing about it.
@tenthousandyearsgoon sure they do. My kids always found ways to get money together,be it stealing the laundry money, saving lunch money, allowance, grandma and grandpa... OR stealing and selling items to others. This prohibition needs to stop so it can be regulated. As it stands it's easier for kids to obtain drugs than it is tobacco or alcohol.
@gypsy1961 Ok you have a point. But speaking from my own experiences as a kid in high school ten years ago, it was easier to get pot in many cases over alcohol simply because of how the black market operates.
I agree with LEAP in the fact that, "Drugs are too dangerous to be left in the hands of criminals." They should be regulated properly....PERIOD! AND, drug addiction is a mental health problem not a law enforcement one.
you can't even use the right form of "too". it's "TO" gain common sense. How is anyone gonna take you seriously when you can't even get something so simple down.
No you're no alone. What you may need to stop doing is assuming that the human race is generally as smart as you wish it was. Lol, remove your standards. Humans are generally retarded.
7 years just for passing joint, give me a break, crazy, so does undercover cop smoke it then bust them or before, What are warning affects on bag of Natural herbs, you are going to eat alot of Munchies, you will be more relaxed and will sleep better, no hangover in morn, breath wont smell like cig smokers, and smell like stinky hangover booze drinkers, ever smell cig smoker breah god that is the worse, and someone who drank all night, comes in throws up plz Legalize Natural herbs
Legalize, not decriminalize because the black market will still sell the drugs and I'd rather have the government sell them instead. We need to weed out the dealers. I'd rather have cops tackle more serious crimes like the illegal weapons trade, etc.
just had to leave another comment. i cant belevie more people cant see this!!! what the fuck man it is staring us right in the face!!!!!!!!! this is so simplame and self explainatori. i actualy take it to a whole nother level and see it even more in depth. But this would be a good step in order to get started. i really hope more people can see this
it's not that people can't see it. you have to realize the reason why drugs are illegal. it's not because drugs destroy communities or they're trying to protect people. it has everything to do with profit. big corporations don't want drugs legal because they're the ones in charge of drugs. if cocaine became legal, why not asthma pumps? as long as they control the access, they control the pricing. with all that money from govt sanctioned drug dealing, the politicians get paid off too. we're stuck
this vieod is so fucking cool and i agree so so so much. Drugs will never go away i promise everyone that!! ha ha i will make sure of it. I have felt this way for a long time i love the "leap" people
write your congress men to legalize email them i live on the texas border and theres more high school drug dealers than high school teachers something is wrong in this country we say here in texas im not giving in to the situation but wakeing up to
@12:15 the drug war is racist. So much for Obama's campaign promises. So much for why most "common folk" voted for him. Google "Fully Informed Jury Association"
Because the national news, just like politicians only do what they 'think' people want, and since Americans are stupid and most of them wouldn't vote for this the news wont play it.
Citizens are duped into supporting laws that they think will put the real drug dealers away. They don't realize that those laws are going to be twisted to incarcerate an innocent teenager who simply passes a joint to an undercover cop (a.k.a. deceitful fascist asshole).
And mandatory minimum sentences mean that this kid, if found guilty of "possession with intent to distribute" will spend EIGHT YEARS in prison. Judges have NO discretion to shorten these mandatory sentences.
This is a great video. Every American should watch it.
What a lot of people don't realize is that government policies are usually effective - it's just that people in government don't want what we want. They want more power. They want more control. They want to trash the Constitution. They want violent crime as an excuse for their police state. They want millions of citizens in prison. And they want to profit from drug sales themselves.
and a lot of governments legalise drugs to insure the people remain sheep ! i know nobody needs to here that , i don't mean to be a party pooper sorry !
What most people don't understand is that the US government is the largest profiteers of world wide heroin distribution.
Fact, prior US involvement, Afghanistan had zero Poppy cultivation.
The CIA is at the top of the "food chain"
The drugs are allowed to enter this country. Then every now and then a large dealer is brought down so the DEA can justify their existence, meanwhile they cash in on the crop & cash in on the prison budget. bottom line, its all about the money.
"Make it legal and take away the profit"? Wow-it really worked with making alcohol legal-no one makes money selling booze do they? and it's kept out of our childrens' hands, isn't it? Pfeh! That isn't a good idea, either. What is? I admit, I don't know, but since legal alcohol, used illegally, is the number 1 killer on the highways today, and used legally, a huge contributor to various fatal diseases like cancer, etc, is there another alternative?
And figure in, also, the amount of homes destroyed, children and spouses abused and molested, due to alcohol use-doesn't seem like it being legal did anything to ease the harm. What will drugs, which altar the mind even more, once made available legally, do? Consider Amsterdam-it hasn't worked there. Regardless of the willingly ignorant like pottedmeat down below.
ill tell you this fact , any country that give its people the FREDOM to use dope you will find that there governments take away the freedom that really matters , its not about your indulgence that matters
well your just trying invalidate my point about tyrannical government s legalizing drugs by accusing me of "bush ism" and well bush is no longer the president so I'm afraid your out of step with the times!
What a fine organization. I fully support their efforts and just signed up. I can't think of anything more important in todays society as this movement, supported by real cops and dedicated to doing what is best for America and its citizens.
Keep up the good work and everyone please pass this on to everyone you know
I've never been to Amsterdam but I don't care what it's like. The bottom line is I feel those people are more free than I am in the "land of the free."
I want to be able to make my own decisions. I care not about the rest. This country is huge. We can all find happy places to be free.
Sure it does. I want the freedom to make my own decisions. To pursue happiness how I like. As long as I'm not harming anyone else, that should be honored. And I don't care if it's drugs or not.
In the first days of this country, when it was a REPUBLIC, that was the law of the land. The government was small and existed for a few specific purposes.
Laws serve to make people stupid. Take a good look around and see what kind of populace the laws and corruption have created.
the streets of any u.s city are far far worst then that of Amsterdam, same goes for London, Paris, Rome, Mexico city, Rio de janeiro or Moscow, where prohibition exists crime holds sway.
Are you christian? Just seems like christian posters always get a thumbs down NO matter what the topic. Its a little thing called a 'narrow mind'. Thats what religion tends to do. Not always--but mostly. Why? Religion separates people into groups 'Us vs Them'. Mob psychology takes over. You people are dangerous to proactivity. You are holding society back. Politicians USE you. Thats why you have -4. Because thinking people think you are dummer than an idiot.
Legalizing all drugs would keep kids away from drug dealers, because they wouldn't be able to walk into 7/11 and buy drugs. It's very simple actually.
One of the best videos on this argument that I've seen - the fact that these are coming from law enforcement authorities speaks volumes. My favorite part starts at 10:44

@LanceHertford -yes mate you smoke to numb out pain for a really bad thing,so i bet the govt answer would be for you to go to a doctor&be prescribed valium, anti depressants&sleeping tablets(mogodon, temazepam etc),whereas you do something for your self&you are now a criminal.
the world is not right when it comes to the laws on cannabis, who exactly or what company is stopping it becoming legal?it really pisses me off that you cant grow it legally.
all the best mate&smoke on!
Bdiddly1 2 weeks ago
@Bdiddly1 Basically, the drug war has made it illegal for you to even attempt to be your own doctor. We're so brainwashed.
LanceHertford 2 weeks ago
@Bdiddly1 The worst thing is, people like me were sexually abused (I was actually raped when I was a toddler), we find something that provides a little respite from the flashbacks (which, by the way, are like a drug trip, themselves), we aren't hurting anyone, and so the government throws us in prison to become a sex slave for hardened criminals, and to submit to rape just to survive. Do you think we come out of that "reformed"? Better? No, you come out of it even more suicidal and crazy.
LanceHertford 2 weeks ago
@LanceHertford -man you have my sympathies for your past&that pisses me off too,the fact you have something that can calm those episodes&yet it's still illegal, wtf?a long time ago i was attacked&had to fight to defend myself,i ended up stabbing a guy who had attempted to break into my flat&had attacked my wife too,he died a couple of times on the op table&after that i got flashbacks&nightmares for a cple of yrs,i do sympathize with your situation mate.my mum was also attacked when i was a boy!
Bdiddly1 2 weeks ago
@LanceHertford -&she was given diazepam to calm her nerves, she has now been on em for 35 years&she is a bag of nerves, thing is if she takes a smoke she calms down too,so thats another reason i dont trust doctors either, they KNOW cannabis is a miracle drug&know all the lies about thc being evil&causing depression/schizo episodes but they also know about the cbn/cbd &realise that thc on its own is a downer but mix it with cbn/cbd your on to a winning medicine!
Bdiddly1 2 weeks ago
@LanceHertford -man that is fucked up,were you in prison for a while?&was it coz of gear?

@LanceHertford - 1 of my mates just done a year in a prison in tunisia for having 1 gram of hash on him,he was the only westerner in a jail called morniguia,he was very lucky he isnt dead, this was just last year he was released&he was in during the wars in afghanistan etc,we are scottish&he managed to persuade the inmates he was a scots irishman NOT english/british,anyway prison for posession of drugs is fucked up in itself but imagine a year for a gram.

Look people prohibition was attempted and look where that got us. We, the people of the United States, should be able to smoke weed (which has medicinal properties) over tobacco (cancer on a stick, anyone?).

Except for meth and crack, they are two of the most vile substances on the planet.
zTiamaTz 1 year ago
@zTiamaTz
you can grow tobacco inside anywhere. and there gonna get alot more of a cut. lets look at it like this. say they charge a tax on growing it at 50.00/plant. odds are with it being legal your gonna grow indoors in a wonderful setup, and your gonna get 1 lb plus wet uncured bud and even more in leaves. now drying that pound and curing that pound your standing to lose about 10 grams an oz. when you dry that out your gonna be left with just under 5/8ths of a lb= at least 2500 - hash from

It didn't work back then and it doesn't work now.

it is good to see coppers saying such sensible things about prohibition, there are quite a few chief constables in the UK who are of the same mind,so when are those who govern us going to listen, probably when we find out who's getting paid to keep it as it is. graft, bribes etc are being paid, the drug trade create vast wealth, that our global economy would collapse without & that illicit money finds it's way into the legitimate economy & some of our law enforcement agencies & government are paid

NewColdness 2 years ago 24
If we ban weapons, it will fail just like alcohol prohibition, just like prostitution, and just like any war on a personal freedom or an object.
Normal peaceful firearm owners will become criminals, just like the occasional smokers of marijuana did when Nixon took office.
Making more weapons illegal will affect people like me. Taking me away from my family, and my culture.
Every war on any object is a failure. keep weapons legal so that our government will sell them. NOT THE GANGS.

it's not that people can't see it. you have to realize the reason why drugs are illegal. it's not because drugs destroy communities or they're trying to protect people. it has everything to do with profit. big corporations don't want drugs legal because they're the ones in charge of drugs. if cocaine became legal, why not asthma pumps? as long as they control the access, they control the pricing. with all that money from govt sanctioned drug dealing, the politicians get paid off too. we're stuck

What a lot of people don't realize is that government policies are usually effective - it's just that people in government don't want what we want. They want more power. They want more control.

That isn't a good idea, either. What is? I admit, I don't know, but since legal alcohol, used illegally, is the number 1 killer on the highways today, and used legally, a huge contributor to various fatal diseases like cancer, etc, is there another alternative?
ukulelemike 2 years ago
And figure in, also, the amount of homes destroyed, children and spouses abused and molested, due to alcohol use-doesn't seem like it being legal did anything to ease the harm.
